Happy Post Turky-apocalypse!

Greetings all!
Did you survive the yearly gorge and Black Friday?
I did.
Barely!

We feasted, and then collapsed on the couches right after. All in all, it was a fantastic day and I was thankful to be able to spend it with family.
I hope you were all just as lucky!

Well, today it's back to work. I go on hiatus on December 20th, so I need to make sure my work is all done in time. I would much rather be a lump on the couch, but unfortunately, duty and death call. Right now, I'm working on the vampyre series re-release. Book one is getting 200 more pages and a new cover. (see the tab above for the sneak preview)
As soon as that's done tomorrow, I'll be working on the next FBI book. It's written and ready to go, it only needs my final read through before it heads off to editing. I really hope you all love Consumed by Wrath (book 8). It picks up four months after Ethan's abduction, and takes us a little more in-depth into his feelings and his emotions.
I will warn you... I cried three times re-reading it. Maybe it's just me... but if you wept like crazy when you read Devil Hath Come, be prepared.

I also have great news. Julian and Tori's first book is done and ready to go. Editing and proofing are complete, (Thank you most awesome team!) and I'll be reading through it one last time right before Christmas.
I can't wait! Blood Red Rage turned out exactly how I hoped, and I really can't wait to see how you all like it.
It's a look into Julian and Tori's life. It's fun and it's got a twist. Plus, all of you that wanted me to bring back his twin, Justin, well... he's all yours.
I'll be posting the back cover this week sometime.

While on hiatus, I'll be reading. What will I be reading you ask?
Well, the Croft & Croft series. I need to reread it because I begin writing Love is Bleeding(book 4) on January 4th. That's my next project and I can't wait. I did get quite a few questions about the hook at the end of Christmas is Killing, so I figured today would be a good day to address them!

Morgan,
I just finished Christmas is Killing, and I have to know something. The way you ended the book in your tease for the next one, you made it seem like you killed Greyson.
Did you?
I swear I won't tell a soul.
Traci

Well, if I tell you, it'll ruin the beginning of the next book. So, request is denied. I will tell you that the killer in book 4 is hell bent on making the FBI's life a living hell. (Mostly Greyson's)
Although it's not written yet, it's outlined in my head. I can tell you that the book will have the normal FBI/police mystery and the ongoing saga with who is trying to corrupt Greyson Croft. I don't usually give tidbits away, especially before I write the book, only because I sometimes change them as I write them. I will say that someone vital is going to die.
As in 'NEVER COMING BACK'.
I can't tell you who, since I have two people in mind and I need to see how the book flows.
Only time will tell on this one.

Morgan,
Are you really going to 'Blackhawk' your Christmas tree?
Seriously?

Maggie.

I already did. My tree goes up on Black Friday and this year I went with a murderous theme. I found a red tinsel tree, and I did it up Blackhawk style. There are keys all over it. Like the one Ethan gave Elizabeth that she wears around her neck, and also to match something Callen gives her in book 8. I used white feathers from the cover of Darkness of Truth, and there are ravens all over it and a giant one on the top.

Don't believe me?
Well, here you go.

I'm happy with it, but the only thing I don't like is how short it is. It's 6 feet, but we generally do 8 feet tall trees, so to me, it looks tiny.

I will say that this is the tree in my office/lounge. I do have a giant green one with ornaments that the kids made and picked out in our family room. So, don't email me to tell me I'm crazy. I'm already well aware! LOL

Here's a few more questions answered.
Yes, my husband thinks I'm nuts.
As does my family.
It would have had skulls all over it, but I wasn't able to find anything. Maybe next year. I do think that next years tree will be in homage to the Littlemoons. I like to mix it up every year. Plus, I love when someone comes into my office and is caught off guard.
Jingle Bells.

Morgan,
Are you really going to make us wait until January for the next book? I have nothing to curl up with for Christmas. Can't we bribe you?
Janice.

Like Elizabeth, I'm not easily swayed. I will tell you that I'm contemplating a Christmas surprise for all of you. I may release Blood Red Rage early. I'm not promising, but I'm thinking about it.
Stay tuned to find out...

Okay, I need to get back to work. I'm neck deep in murder and the holidays. I hope you all have a great week!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Blood Red Rage is done.

Good morning!
Happy Turkey Day week!
I'm just popping in to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving week, and to deliver the good news.

Blood Red Rage (book 1) is edited and just about finished with proofing. YAY!
Everyone that has read it is excited about it's release. Julian and Tori are going to be making their debut before we all know it, and so far they're loved!

I can't wait until January 1st, and I hope that you all fall in love with the Littlemoon series as much as I have! I'm so excited that I almost want to release the second book right after it...

HAHAHAHA sorry, but you'll have to wait until June-ish for that one.

I hope everyone is ready for the approaching holiday. (Those of you in the US.) I know I am. I've been baking cookies, pies, and prepping to have the whole family over. I even made butter from scratch.
I kid you not!
I have some secret skills that not everyone knows about...
Anyway, it's a big week in my house. My parents drove the 800 miles to come back to the nest, and my sisters and I have had our celebratory martini's out this past weekend.
We're all set to have some Thanksgiving fun. I hope you all get to be with your families, make memories, and have a good time.
It's my holiday wish for all of you.

We'll be putting up the Christmas tree on Friday, since I don't do Black Friday sales. My Christmas shopping is done, wrapped and put away. I don't like fist fights and getting bashed in the head with the three dollar toaster, to get the flat screen TV.
I like violence, but not that kind...

So, after gorging ourselves silly on Thursday, I'll help the kids decorate the two trees, and make my husband go outside to put up all the Christmas lights (Picture National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation) and you'll get an idea of what it's like in my house.
I can't wait.

I love this time of the year. All the love and mayhem, that's light on the murder.
You can't blame a girl!

Anyway,
Happy Turkey Day!

See you on the other side of the season, ten pounds heavier and going through sugar detox!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

Book covers and updates.

As you can imagine, I get a lot of emails asking about what's coming up.
Well, I've added new tabs to the top of the page. You can now get a sneak peek at the covers and
the release dates.
So, pop on up there and check it out!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

Good morning!

Happy Hump day!

I hope you're all having a great week! For those of you in the US, you're probably prepping and getting read for the upcoming Turkey day. Me too! I can't wait to spend it with family, as we gorge on delicious food.
For those of you outside the states, I wish you could all be here! I would love to share my turducken feast with you!

As we roll into the holiday season, I'm sure we're all going to be busy. I know that I am. Currently, Blood Red Rage (book 1) is off being edited and proofed. It's due back the day before Turkey day, and I can't wait to do my final read through and stick a fork in it!
So far, my editor and proofer are enjoying it, and I only hope that when you read the Littlemoon series, you will too.
It's a little different and not my customary book. It still has mystery, the same fun characters, and intrigue, but it's my foray into the paranormal.
Now, don't panic.
I don't go crazy and have creatures that are bizarre and science fiction-y all over the place. I promise. In Blood Red Rage, we get to hang out with Justin Littlemoon. (Remember him from Darkness of Truth?) Well, he's back and helping his family build up the new business.
Only, he's about to have a life altering thing happen.
Yeah, you guessed it.
Love.
I hope you enjoy the relationship that forms between him and Detective Vivian Graves. She's fun, smart, and a little bit different. (Hint Hint)

That's all I can tell you for now, but there will be a synopsis coming soon, I promise!

What else am I working on?
Well, I'm in the process of getting my Vampyre series re-released. The titles have changed, and they're getting new details and more pages. I'm rewriting the first one, Dangerous Revelations right now. The cover is ready and it just has to be wrapped, edited and proofed. That's slotted sometime in February.

I love hearing from you. Nothing makes me smile more than seeing an email from my readers. I also love when you tell me what you think should happen. I'm so glad that you've all taken a personal investment in my books from Lyzee to Emma and Tori too. They feel like the girlfriends that we all want in our lives.
I sincerely hope that they make you smile, like they do me.

Keep reading and have a great holiday season!

I'm doing a Blackhawk themed Christmas tree this year, so maybe there will be pictures....

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

More funnies...

Isn't it the truth?

This was sent over today by Rachel. It made me laugh. Please feel free to share. I've seen some floating on FB and they crack me up!

Who doesn't want a little bit of Ethan against them?

I certainly do!

Back to working on Consumed by Wrath (book 8). The details will be done by tonight! I can't wait!

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Happy Weekend!

Hi all! I hope you're having a really great day. I am! I know saying this is likely to jinx me, but I'm actually a head of schedule for the month. Yeah, I said it. May the schedule Gods have mercy on my soul.
I got some really great emails this week, but one that I loved so much that I'm going to bring it up here. Thank you, Leta for your email. I seriously was so glad to get it. I love when my readers contact me (YES, I answer each one myself. They come right to my phone instantly.) Thank you for your comments and your sweet words. I appreciate them.

I'm about halfway through the detail adding for Consumed by Wrath, and I have to say that I love it. I've cried, I've laughed, and I've honestly found myself enthralled with the audacity of Elizabeth. I think she's thrown out some hysterical one liners in this book, and I can't wait to have you read them. As usual, Lyzee is up to her old antics.

Thank God! Almost losing Ethan rattled them all...

Also, the newest version of Deep Dark Mire (book 4) should be available this weekend. I just sent it over ten minutes ago for upload. So, if you want to newest version, it's clean and ready!

Since I have some time, I thought I could post some of the questions that I received this week. It's been a while, and I figure it's time.

Morgan,
I went to go buy your vamp series and it's not available. What happened? Please tell me that it's as spicy as your FBI series. I'm dying to read it.
Susan.

Yeah, the vampyre series was pulled.
Here's the story behind it. When I was just starting out, I was with a publishing company for my first three books. The Junction, Serial Sins and The Blood Betrayal. I wasn't happy with them, but I signed a contract where they owned my books for 7 years. That's why you can go out to amazon and see books that you can't buy, or books that are ridiculously overpriced.

Someone got angry and I was slammed by a reviewer because she purchased the three vampyre E-books, but when she went to buy the paperback version of book one, it was out of print. (Why she bought books 2-4 without seeing if book 1 was available, I'll never understand...) The ONLY copy available was by an independent seller, who was asking 228.00 for it. So, she got mad at me. Only, I have nothing to do with it. If the publisher who owns that book decides to cancel it, I can't do anything about it. I don't make any money from the person(s) selling used copies of my books, and I can't control the price they set.

SO, until I own the first book in the series (It's coming soon- 2014) I pulled the rest of the books. You'll see them popping back up, once I can offer all of them to my readers. They will have new names and new titles, so be ready!

As to the spicy quotient in that series. If that was your way of asking if there is a threesome, the answer is yes. The vampyres are a lot more free wheeling (as is Elizabeth, apparently) There are threesomes, but not in the first book. In fact, it doesn't happen until the second one. So, if you just like a good vampyre mystery but are squeamish with the ménage element, you can read book one and stop there. If you aren't freaked out with the sex scenes, there will be 10 books in that series for you to enjoy. Up to book 6 is complete and the releases will start up in 2014. I just don't have the dates quite yet. (Stay tuned for that...)

Morgan,
I heard a rumor that you're putting out so many books next year because you're planning to retire. Are you ending your series?
Please say no!
Jessica

Yeah, that's really not true, so NO! I don't know where you heard that, but I'm not retiring. I'm still young and in my thirties. (Okay, I'll be 40 in January) I have no intention of calling it quits or ending a series. I have a 'Sinner' trilogy that only has three books, and the vampyre series is only slotted for 10, but other than that, the others will run as long as I have people interested in reading them. I'm not saying I'll keep them going indefinitely, but I promise that there's no end in sight. I have a lot of Elizabeth angst still left in me, and Emma and Tori just got their stories.
Fear not, there is more coming.

Morgan,
I'm sure you get this a lot, but do you really write the books in real time or do you have a stockpile to pull them from?
Dena.

Right now, the ONLY books that are completed are Consumed by Wrath (book 8), Blood Red Rage (book 1), Lost & Broken (book 2), Sinner Repent (book 1), and the first six vampyre books (Because they were already released)  I generally try to have a book done 3-5 months before it gets to the reader. There's two rounds of my read through, detailing, and now an editor and proofer. So, that takes time, two weeks per cycle. It adds up. My books are pretty much done up to June next year with the exception of the Croft & Croft book, Love is Bleeding (book 4). I plan on starting that January 1 for an April release. I wish I had a stockpile, so I can sleep in on a weekend! Thus the reason I have been up since two a.m.)

I haven't forgotten about the photos from my trip, I'm just waiting for my husband to email them to me. Fear not, they are coming!

Back to work!
I have cookies to bake for Turkey day and a Turducken to plan. Be safe this weekend, and don't forget to get your murder on!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Rachel reminded me...

I got an email from my proofer, Rachel, and it reminded me of some of the things I was sent recently. I thought I would share them, since they made me snort.

I hope they make you laugh too. Apparently, there are Elizabeth-esque cards floating around. If you find any, send them. I love getting a giggle over them!

Why choose? Have them both...

Ahhhh the truth comes out. The gig is up for the haters.

Enjoy!

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Back from my spooktastic trip.

Morning all!

I'm back from haunted Gettysburg and finishing up some work. It was a really nice trip. I had a great time, and if you ever get a chance, visit the Baladerry Inn. The innkeepers, Judy and Ken were amazing!
The room was perfect.
The food was terrific, and it was fun!

I had a lot of great inspiration while I was there. I would like to report that I didn't see a ghost at the Inn, and that was more than okay. The battlefields and cemetery... yeah, that was a totally different story. I happened to snap quite a few photos.
Some were just what they appeared to be, and others were more than expected.
I'll be uploading them this week to share. Let's just say that when they tell you that the battlefield is haunted, it certainly is.
I'm a believer.
We visited Sachs Bridge (where men were hung for treason)
The National Cemetery. (It's both amazing and heartbreaking)
Then the battlefields. (Spooky!)

If you ever walk the streets, make sure you visit Shriver house. It was the best tour that I've ever had, even though my giant of a husband had to duck or hit his head. (Yes, he did repeatedly.) Back then they didn't build houses for men that are 6'6".

Tomorrow I'll post some of the pics, including the three that showed more than just scenery. (I'll have you know that I discovered the 'additions' at two in the morning and scared the hell out of myself!)

Back to work!
Deep Dark Mire is in for a re-edit.
Blood Red Rage is officially done and going to edit tomorrow.
Lost & Broken is just about done. I'm writing the last two chapters today!
My how time flies when you're having fun!

Have a great day!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Going to get my spook on!

Morning all! Happy almost weekend!

I'm popping in to wish you all a great day, and to tell you that I am off on an adventure. As I've said before, the Littlemoon series is going to have a spooky and paranormal twist to it. In honor of that, I need a little inspiration, so, what am I going to do?

I'll tell you what.

My husband and I are taking a little haunted interlude. For our anniversary, we're headed to one of America's most haunted B&B's smack dab in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.
To say I'm excited would be an understatement.
I have ALWAYS wanted to visit and stay at the Baladerry Inn. It's on the edge of the battlefield and was used as a Confederate field hospital. When I saw it on the travel channel on 'Haunted Destinations', I had to see it.

So, in honor of 16 years of marriage, my husband gave me the gift that keeps on giving. Some women get jewelry, I get ghosts. Yeeeee Haw!

I can't wait.
Okay, enough about the spooks.

Blood Red Rage (book 1) in the Littlemoon series is heading off to editing. It shall be delivered to the team on the thirteenth and ready to go for January. Since no one has seen it but me, I hope that they like it. I personally love it. The second book Lost & Broken, is just about done. I'll be wrapping it up by Friday next week.
Then, it's off to add details and clean up Consumed by Wrath (book 8). Before you know it, it'll be time for another FBI installment.

Man, the time is flying!

Thank you for the emails, the comments and keep posting them on Amazon! I love seeing them and replying! You all are the best! I have the greatest fans ever!

Enjoy your weekend. If I find any ghosts, you'll be the first to know!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Morning !

After meeting with my editor yesterday, we went over the book schedule for next year, and there have been some changes. I'll be posting the updated book list for next year this weekend.
I hope you'll all still be as excited as I am once you see it!

Plus, I'm going to be starting up a new blog tour in January. I can't wait for that either!

Thank you all for the comments and questions that you've sent! I have read them all and will be posting them soon. If you have any questions, please contact me. I love hearing from you!

Sorry for the short post today!
I'm buried in killing and on a tight schedule! I'm hoping to wrap writing the second Littlemoon book next week, so bear with me! I'll be back to give you more updates as soon as I can!

A little shout out to Phoenix on amazon. He wrote the most awesome review for Christmas is Killing. I challenge everyone to dethrone it! Go ahead, give it your best shot! Phoenix's reviews make me laugh every time!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

What's next?

I get asked this question a lot!

Well, I'm going to be working on the Littlemoon series. Julian and Tori now have a world of their own, and you're going to get to read all about it!

One of the most common questions I get is, what happened to Justin?
(Julian's twin)
Well, you're going to find out. Blood Red Rage (book one) is his story. A lot has changed in his life since we ran into him on the Rez. He didn't reenliste as a Marine, and he now works for his brother. Unfortunately, the ghosts of his past are chasing him. Like Tori, he's been a little beat up and damaged because of the war.
Well, we're going to fix that. I love a happy ever after, so....

In Blood Red Rage, you get to meet the woman who will anchor him to the present and patch up the past. You also get to watch them solve a case that's growing out of control. What starts as one abduction, turns into something far more sinister.
I promise to make it interesting.
I'm so proud of this series.

I love Blood Red Rage.

In fact, I loved it so much, that I was compelled to write the second book (doing that right now and it's 1/3 of the way done). I couldn't wait to tell Kane and Christina's stories. So, in the spirit of the holidays, I'll share that cover too.

What the hell!

I'll give you the third book in the series while I'm at it.
Why not?
What's a little sneak peak among friends.
Okay, here's the Littlemoon series in all it's glory. Now, don't tell anyone. It's going to have to be our little secret....

Book One. Out in January 2014

Book Two. Out in June 2014

Book Three. Out in December 2014

I hope seeing them makes you as excited as I am! I know that I can't wait until they're in your hands and you're enjoying them as much as I did creating them. They're my adult spooky stories, and I hope they make you fall more in love with the Littlemoon family!

Okay! I have to get back to work! I have books to write and bodies to hide! Thank you all for your comments, emails and just messages that make me smile. I promise to do a question and answer day again really soon!

Much Love, Murder and Mayhem,
Morgan.

Christmas is Killing has released!

CHRISTMAS IS KILLING is here! (For the kindle)

Happy Holiday all! Off to trick or treat!

Morgan

PS. Don't forget to check out the prologue I posted two days ago! I think you're going to love the next book!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Blessed Samhain my friends!

I love this time of the year.
I especially love Halloween. It's when the spooky is loved, the macabre is adored and the scary is in the forefront.
To me, Halloween is a time when we can all be kids, eat lots of candy and play make believe.
It's kind of what I do every day in my life.

I get the privilege of playing in fantasy worlds and it's damn fun! I get to create murder, mayhem and most importantly, (in my opinion) love.
On my most favorite of holidays, I want to wish you a terrifyingly haunted night as you take the kids out trick or treating, dress up to hand out candy to the neighborhood kids, or just watch a scary movie on TV.

Experience it for what it's worth.

Sometime tonight, Christmas is Killing  (book 3) will be available. I hope you all enjoy it, and drop me an email with your opinion. I know that some of you have issues with Greyson Croft being so bossy, arrogant and territorial. He's a total alpha, but things are on the horizon.
There shall be a shake up going on.

Enjoy and think of me as you're out haunting your streets.
I too shall be blending in, making mischief and causing general mayhem.

Brightest Blessings on Halloween.

Fondest wishes,

Morgan

My gift to you. The prologue for Christmas is Killing.

I'm not releasing this anywhere but here, so thank you for your emails, your comments and your awesomeness! It is appreciated.

I hope you enjoy the prologue to my newest release. It will be out this Friday, November 1st!

~Prologue~

  Las Vegas

Christmas week

It isn’t easy being a killer.

You would think that taking a life and plotting an entire crime from start to finish would be the simplest thing to do. How hard could it possibly be to pick a victim and then steal the life from their bodies?

Well, that part wasn’t difficult, but the rest was a strategic masterpiece in the making.

Any good homicidal maniac knows that you have to be damn good at your job, or the police and Feds will be all over you. First, you have to watch your prey and follow them around for a few days to make sure they were the right ones for you.

You wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes without first trying them on, would you?

NO!

So, the same was true with picking a woman to claim in your little murderous game of cat and mouse. They had to be perfect for what you had planned, and not just any woman would do.

After finding the lucky lady, you have to go deep into planning mode. There’s the whole ‘electric chair’ outcome that you have to worry about. In this game, there can be no errors. No one wants to lose their life strapped into that device. Getting kicked out of the game means death, so you have to be very careful when it comes to evidence.

Basically, there could be none.

Nada.

Zilch.

Gloves were needed to keep their bodies pure. Lest you planned on spending your dying days in a bright orange jumpsuit in Federal lock up. If you have any intent on having your way with them first, then you will need even more protection. It may be a hindrance, but it will keep your little guys from finding their way back to you in the long run. You don’t want the police putting your sample on file for future reference. That could come back to bite you in the end if you ever were to become a prolific killer.

Now, if you physically have contact with the women’s bodies, then you need to have a sure fire way to remove any possible trace evidence and fibers.

A common shop vacuum seems to work wonders in a pinch. Well, it did for him anyway. It was well worth the investment to suck away all the stray hairs that were inadvertently left behind.

Then you need a place to leave the bodies. If you’re playing a game and vying for the attention of the world to see, then you want the location to be in the open and easily accessible. It can’t be too hard for the cops to find, since they aren’t the brightest individuals on the face of the earth. It needs to be a place that you can just happen across when the crime scene is discovered, just so you can gawk in horror, like everyone else.

Who didn't like to watch the way it all unfolded, and stare in pride at their fine masterpiece? Watching was the best part. It was for him anyway. Some killers enjoyed the taking of the victim, the raping or the killing. Not him. He loved the observation. It was like watching your opponent in action and unobserved. It was being able to play a game and not have anyone see you taking notes.

So, it was important to make it count. He personally liked picking locations that made no sense, even to him. It would keep everyone guessing and far from discovering the truth of who was committing the crimes.

Lastly, there was one more important part to the sport. You needed to have the perfect opponent. Regular detectives wouldn’t do- not in his case. Why waste time with some local idiots, when you could ask for the king of all cops?

The FBI.

It was funny. If you just left a note, then you could get them to come to the party. If you promised more dead women, then you could have them at your beck and call. When they believed they were working against someone so twisted and crazy, they’d pull out all the stops to just end your game.

Too bad that wasn’t going to happen.

Ever!

There was a new mastermind in town, and this time it wasn’t the almighty Feds.

For him, there was no love lost for this time of the year. It was a time of fake happiness, family tomfoolery, and faux bliss. But this season, he was giving himself the best Christmas present ever. He was taking the gift of life. Not just one, but as many as he could until Christmas came to an end. When the holiday was finished, he’d wrap it up and wait until next year to pick up again. Maybe it would be here in Vegas, maybe it wouldn’t. That would depend on the FBI and how good they were at their jobs.

Only time would tell.

Some might call him sick, perverse, and twisted, but he knew the absolute truth. He was the only sane one in a world full of lunatics. Why run around trying to buy presents that would be forgotten shortly after the holiday? Why run up credit card bills on ugly sweaters and decorations for your home, when you could give yourself the gift that kept on giving?

It was the memory of being full of power and in control.

It was the best gift that could ever be placed under your tree. You could lay in bed, night after night, dreaming about how it unfolded and relive the emotions that you felt as it happened. It was as close to absolute happiness as one could get.

Murder was the best present ever and highly underrated!

The rustling sound from the next room drew his attention back to his evening’s plans. It was time to take care of the ‘situation’. At just the thought, he was filled with such peace. Now, this was what the spirit of Christmas was all about!

Entering the darkened workspace, he stood admiring his two captive prizes. One, he’d taken a day ago, and the other just that night.

They were very different from each other and completely random. That was how it needed to be. It would make the FBI go crazy as they tried to ferret out the rhyme or reason behind them. One was a young teacher, and the other was some pricy call girl, hired to make men’s dreams come true.

If you thought about it, they were actually more similar than different. They both helped people.

One assisted children in learning.

The other taught men that buying sex was acceptable.

There was no doubt that right about now, the one woman was probably rethinking her life and choices. Offering herself up to him was probably her one biggest regret.

Oh well, live and learn. Then he realized how funny that truly was, since her learning and living were about to come to an end.

Moving towards the innocent one, he stroked her hair as he stared down into her terrified eyes. “I’m sorry you have to die this way, but I needed a ‘nice’ and you were the best I could find.”

The woman made some noise from behind the gag in her mouth, following it up with tears sliding down her cheeks.

He kissed her on the forehead. “You’ll go fast and won’t suffer,” he promised. “Unlike my little ‘naughty’ here. She’s going to feel pain and suffering as she finds her way out of this world.”

The other woman whimpered and shook at his words. She began to struggle against the chains wrapped precariously around her throat.

“Well ladies, shall we begin?”

They both fought to get free from their bindings, but neither had a chance. Life was marked in minutes now for them both, not days or years.

Today they were destined die.

Life was on its way out.

Putting his hands around the ‘nice’ one’s neck, he slowly cut off all the oxygen. Her eyes went wide as he crooned to her and whispered reassuring words that it would all be okay. “Just go to sleep precious one. It’s time for peace.”

Slowly, she obeyed like he knew she would. ‘Nice’ always did what she was told and followed the given commands. Soon, her eyes rolled back into her head and the up and down motion of her chest came to a stop. Now, she was meeting her maker and free from the bindings of this life.

And just like that, she was gone.

He turned his focus to the woman fighting hard to slide across the floor and away from him. She’d been forced to watch the woman’s life being snuffed out. By the look on her face, he could tell she was terrified, knowing what was coming.

“My gift to her was a serene ending, but you won’t be so lucky. ‘Naughty’ leaves the world kicking and screaming as she begs for mercy, because there has to be balance in everything we do.”

He began stripping from his clothes, not to ruin them or leave any evidence on the victim.

She began crying and that only excited him more.

“It’s time to give me the best Christmas present of the year. I do believe that I’ve earned it,” he stated, putting on protection and following through with his plan.

The woman’s eyes were huge, as tears poured down her cheeks. In that moment, she began praying silently and asking for forgiveness for whatever it was she had done. It was obvious that she was going to die, but now she begged for a quick passage much like the other woman had been offered. In her time of death, she too wanted to be ‘nice’.

He leaned over and grabbed her by the hair to drag her back to the mattress from which she had escaped. Her body scraped across the floor and landed with a thud at his feet. The chains around her neck tightened to the point that she began to panic.

“I’m going to enjoy this,” he admitted, grinning. “How could I not?”

His laughter filled the room, as one woman lay dead and the other began the torturous journey to death.

Her prayer wouldn’t be answered.

She wouldn’t go easy or fast.

The killer made sure of it.

Pressing her securely to the mattress beneath him, he whispered in her ear. “Let’s begin the celebration,” and then he did just that.

Much to her horror, by the end she begged for death.

Three hours later

He stared down at his masterpieces. The last few hours had been brutal for the ‘naughty’ one. He’d taken her a few times and enjoyed the fight and the broken submission. As he buried himself in her body, his mind was already wandering towards locating the next pair of women.

It wouldn’t be long now.

There would need to be quite a few more. There were only so many days remaining until Christmas, and he didn't want to miss a second of the holiday revelry.

He lined the trunk of his car with plastic, to keep their bodies pristine and the blood from ruining the carpeting in his car. That wouldn’t help him in the long run if he left a trail. He packed them in carefully, placing ‘nice’ on the top, since she was the innocent in all this. He wanted to treat her body gently, since she’d earned it. The only harm he’d done was the word carved into her ivory skin.

At first, he debated doing it but then again, she was already dead, so what was the harm in that?

Closing the hatch, he grabbed the two bows and two notes he had for the FBI. Once there, he’d place them around their necks and start the next part of the game.

Before long, they’d find them. Then he could sit back and revel in his glory that with four dead women, they were no closer to figuring it out.

Ah, those poor Feds. This time, they would realize that they had met their match. He was going to outsmart, outplay, and outthink them until they gave up in frustration. There was no way they’d find him and end his little holiday adventure.

Now, it was time to dump them and find the next pair of early Christmas presents. His ‘naughty and nice’ list was getting longer and longer.

Okay, who was he kidding?

It was also his very own wish list. They’d caught his eye and now he had to have them.

How he wished there was more time before the holiday. He’d been a very good boy this year and deserved even more presents.

Then again, who could stop him from just taking whatever he wanted.

The answer?

No one…

Twenty miles outside Vegas

Wednesday Night

Inside the trunk of the vehicle, she was struggling to get free from the bindings around her wrists. As she slid around, she could hear the Christmas music playing in the car, entertaining the person who had taken her. They were obviously enjoying the whole kidnapping thing.

Well, she wasn’t and it was time to end his fun.

When she came to, her head was covered with a hood and her mouth had been taped shut. They were the first to go in her attempt to break free. If she had to fight to survive, she needed to be able to call for help or better yet, bite her captor. If he was going to kill her, then she would take some DNA with her for the police to find. In fact, she’d take a finger or chunk of flesh if need be.

She didn't know how long she’d been out. The lump on the back of her skull throbbed, but whatever he’d placed over her nose was making her head swim sickly to the point she wanted to vomit. Trying to think back, her mind rebelled and wasn’t having it. It looked like she needed to focus on the here and now until she was free.

She didn't know what was happening, but she was well aware that the next few moments would mean life or death. It all came down to what occurred when the car came to a stop.

Freeing her hands, she reached down to get her ankles unrestrained, and then scanned the dark confines of the car trunk for anything to use as a weapon. The tail lights were visible inside, illuminating the space with enough light for her to see outlines of items.

There was nothing to use, but she did find one thing that might save her.

This was a newer model car, and inside was a safety release latch.

There was a way out!

When he bound her, he should have made it harder to escape. Now, she could pop the trunk and make a break for it when he slowed down.

He hit a bump and it jostled her, causing her to land hard on her side. That was going to hurt in the morning, if she lived to tell about it. Already, her body sung in aches and pains, but the adrenaline forced her mind to push past it. Later, she was pretty sure she would be feeling like a truck ran her over.

For all she knew, one actually did. Everything that happened was a little bit hazy.

Right now, she had two priorities, and she kept focusing on them in her drug fogged brain. Now, she needed to survive and get home. Everything in her told her to stay fixated on getting back to his side. There would be safety if she was only strong enough to overcome what was coming.

Nat King Cole played over the radio, irritating the shit out of her, as she finally freed her ankles. Reaching up, she waited until the car slowed down to pull the release. When it finally did, she held the trunk lid with sore fingers and peered out into the night.

All she could see were trees.

There were lots of them too.

Someone wasn’t in downtown Vegas anymore.

Well hell!

Gone were the neon signs and the palms and back were the real deal. Okay, so this wasn’t going to be as easy as she hoped. In fact, the insurmountable odds began weighing on her mind, as she scanned the situation further.

Yeah, this wasn’t looking good at all.

She was screwed.

Then she could feel the change in motion, as the vehicle slowed down. It must be coming to a crossroad or stop sign. It was now or never, and in her mind she prayed to a higher power that she’d be strong enough to pull it off. The car rolled to a stop, and in that moment she took the chance that either screamed life or death.

He’d catch her, or she’d be fast enough in her state to stay one step ahead of him.

Pushing up the trunk lid only far enough to squeeze out, she felt the car begin to move again, as she fell from the inside. When she hit the asphalt, her body sang in pure pain, but she didn't care. She was way too busy praying that the music would cover any sounds and offer distraction.

Then she did what her instinct told her to do.

She ran for her life.

It was important that she stay focused on the path ahead and never look back. If she did, there was the fear that the person who abducted her would be right behind her.

It scared her to know she might be recaptured again.

That he’d take her once more.

If he succeeded, could she get free a second time?

Racing further into the trees, she wished for some protection as the cold air assaulted her body and lungs. He’d taken her clothes and boots, leaving her only with a lacy bra and panties.  Obviously, he’d wanted to make it as hard for her as possible to get away from him.

Well, mission accomplished there.

Being half-naked wasn’t exactly how she wanted to be found, but at this point it didn’t matter. Getting away and to safety meant everything at this point.

She had to call him!

He would find her!

It wouldn’t matter where on the planet the abductor took her. He would come. She had to believe that with all her heart and soul. It was all that was pushing her on through the chilly night.

Weaving in and out of the trees, they sliced and whipped at her as she refused to stop or look back. The only sounds that filled the night were that of her footfalls and her rapid breathing.

Tripping over a root, she went down, scraping her knees and palms, but refusing to give up.

She was tougher than this.

This wasn’t the way she was exiting this existence.

NOT HAPPENING!

There was no way in hell that after all she survived in her life that she was going down to this maniac. Up she jumped, all the while pushing on to move closer towards freedom. When she’d run as far as she could, barefoot, she leaned protectively behind a tree to listen and track the possible person chasing her.

There were no sounds.

No one was out there.

Surely, if he was following she’d hear him.

That gave her renewed hope, and then there was the crash of reality. She was in the middle of nowhere, dressed in her underwear, and it was getting later in the evening. If she were in Vegas, she’d know how cold it was going to get but here she had no clue. Was she still in Nevada? He took her early in the day and at this point she could be in another state.

Her first instinct told her to find help, and then if need be shelter from the cold. It was survival mode, and she wasn’t going to panic any more than she already was inside.

Pushing on, she refused to let it break her.

Not yet. There’d be no tears until he came for her. Once she saw him, she’d shatter apart under the exhaustion of it all. For now, there was the need to stay strong and keep believing that she had a snowball’s chance in hell of surviving all this.

Moving through the trees, she knew as long as she kept moving in one direction, it would be okay.

She wasn’t aware of how long it had taken, but there was a clearing up ahead, and it gave her hope. Maybe, it was a rest stop or a police outpost.

When she broke through the tree line, there was indeed a building visible.

Her heart soared as she raced toward it. There were no cars, no lights or sign of life. If she had to, she’d break the window and find some warmth. Her hopes crashed as she spotted the barred windows. Well shit! Okay, on to plan B.

Reading the sign beside the door, she was never so happy to see words in her life. It was a ranger’s station, and the location was the national park right outside of Vegas. She wasn’t that far from home after all.

She pounded on the door and peeked in the windows, hoping that someone was working late.

No one was there.

Damn!

And then she saw the phone booth. Immediately, she knew what needed to be done. Racing towards it on damaged feet, she pushed the pain out of her mind. This would be her one shot at salvation.

“Please work,” she muttered as she slammed the door to the rickety old booth and picked up the handset.

There was a tone and her heart began to rejoice.

She dialed nine-one-one and prayed for help.

“What’s your emergency?” came the monotone woman’s voice.

She almost wanted to weep in joy at just that sound alone. “I’ve been abducted. I escaped the man’s car, and I think I know where I am.” She read her the sign above the ranger’s station door and waited for the woman to say something, anything.

“You’ve been abducted?” Immediately, the woman’s tone changed from boredom to urgency.

“You need to call this number. It’s the direct line to the head of the FBI in Las Vegas. His name is Director Greyson Croft. You need to call him,” she demanded. “Do it now! I don’t know how much time I have!”

“Okay, calm down,” the woman said, taking the number that she repeated over and over.

“I can’t! I escaped, and he may be coming back for me! Call the damn number! He’ll verify that this isn’t a prank!”

The operator kept her on the line and did what she asked. When the call was picked up on the third ring, she spoke to the man.

“Is this Greyson Croft?”

“Yes,” he replied, sounding frazzled and very irritated.

“I have a woman on the line, and she gave me this number. She’s saying that she has been abducted.”

There was hope beginning to blossom in him.

“Where’s she at?” he demanded, motioning to everyone in the room to follow him.

The operator told him what she’d relayed and gave him the story.

“Do you have her on the line?” He practically shouted into the phone.

“Yes, sir.”

He knew what he needed to do.

“I need her name.” There was always the slim chance that this was a prank. “And then tell her to hide! We’re on our way.”

The operator switched over to the woman. “Ma’am, are you still with me?”

“Yes, but hurry. It’s cold out. He took my clothes.” Her teeth chattered as she scanned the area to assure he wasn’t coming for her.

“Director Croft needs me to get your name. Who are you?”

She wanted to weep at the mere mention of his name.

“I’m his wife. I’m Detective Emma Croft.”

Monday once again...

Morning all!

Just popping in to say hi, and to tell you that Christmas is Killing (book 3) is done, and I'm going to release it early. I was planning on Nov 15, but since my team worked extra hard, it's finished. So, for those of you ready for the next Croft & Croft book, brace yourselves. It's on its way.

I'm thinking this Friday. So, be ready.
It's my early Christmas gift to you all! I hope that you enjoy it and get excited about what's to come. I know I eagerly await writing the sequel.

I'm prepping for Halloween right now. We're making popcorn balls, cupcakes and getting ready for trick or treating. I love this time of the year, and truly enjoy the fall. After Halloween, the next step is Turkey day.
Yep, we celebrate it in my house, just a little differently. I'll be making some Native American foods and trying to stick with the traditions. This year, we're making and decorating three new cookies. A canoe, a gingerbread brave, and a chief head with full headdress. It's our shout out to my ancestors and the Native culture.
We also are preparing the Turdorken. Yes, you read that right. My husband is planning on stuffing a turkey, with a duck, with a chicken, and pork stuffing, and then wrapping it in bacon. It will then go on the smoker.
Yeah, we like meat in our house. He'll be sitting alongside the deep fried turkey on our table.
I have much to be thankful for this year, and I can't say it enough. Thank you for all my readers and team that made me who I am.
I am truly blessed by you all.

Speaking of team, they are working on their bios right now. I am going to add a page to this blog, introducing you to the people that work incredibly hard on my books. I get quite a few questions about them, so I'll introduce the new team and you can get to know them. Lots of things changed up here, so we're going to give accolades to the women that do all my editing and proofing.
Look for it soon...

Have a great Monday! Tomorrow or Wednesday, I'll be posting the prologue for Christmas is Killing. I want to give you all a sneak peek....

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan

Happy Middle of the week!

Good morning!
It's a beautiful day in the northeast part of the states, (well, I think it is. It's three in the morning...) and I'm a very happy girl.

Why you ask?

Someone has just finished the detail add to Sinner Repent (book 1). Yes, it took me a week, but I just finished it. The covers are also done for the trilogy, Sinner Repent, Sinner Realized, and Sinner Reborn. All three Carter Chronicle Romance Mysteries are on their way! I hope you'll enjoy them. The first one will be out in March, the second in August, and the last around Christmas next year. I had fun working on the first one, and the next two should be just as exciting.

For those of you that get freaked out by the threesome aspect, fear not, this is a straight romance with nothing to make you uncomfortable. You'll also see how this trilogy will tie into the FBI series, with mention of Ethan and Elizabeth Blackhawk.
Yes, it's all built around the world of FBI West.

Today, I'm starting my final read through of Christmas is Killing (book 3) for the Croft & Croft series. It should take me until Friday, and then I'm off for the weekend. On Monday, I begin my first read through of Blood Red Rage (book 1) of the Littlemoon series.

Which brings me to the questions that have been landing in my inbox.

Morgan,
I read that you're doing the Littlemoon series. Will we get to see more with Julian's twin, Justin? I want to know more about him and his past too! I love how your characters are all tied together so well! Keep killing!
Tandy.

Tandy, thank you for the email!
To answer your question, yes, in Blood Red Rage, you will get more Justin. Since this is 'Littlemoon Investigations' you're going to get an insight into all the Littlemoon's lives. Julian and Tori own the agency, but Justin works there. In book one, you meet the love of his life, and how they come together as a couple, to find the person 'taking' women for his collection.
Since we already have Julian and Tori's backstories, I decided to focus on Justin first. (I do get a lot of emails about him, believe it or not! Him and Dante from the Croft & Croft series!) Book two- Lost & Broken will focus on Christina and Kane. Remember them? You have to think back to Darkness of Truth. We're going to see what happened to them, and if they were able to have a relationship. It should be interesting.

Morgan,
How do you come up with all these stories? I love how each one is so completely different. When I read the last bit at the end of Devil Hath Come, I had to read it twice. Are you really doing a cannibal killer?
Steph

Well, I honestly don't know how I pull it off sometimes. If I told you my process, you'd think I was nuts. Really. For the Littlemoon series, I saw the book cover and wrote the stories around them. For the FBI series, it was all done around the painting that I did of Chief Blackhawk. He sits above my fireplace. Croft & Croft was done after I smudged my house with sage. (I told you...) The Carter Chronicles came to me while I was out running. I don't like to use the same killing twice. At some point, I'll have to repeat them. You can only kill someone so many ways before you redo it, but until then, I've got a few more things to go.

As to the cannibal, I'm not doing one. I've already done it. The book is finished and will be getting all the details added over Christmas. So, buckle in, and if you're squeamish, all the better. I have the next two FBI books plotted out, so 9 and 10 will be different killings too.

Morgan,
Thank you for not killing off Ethan. Had you done it, I wouldn't have continued reading the series. I did love that you made us sit on the edge of our seats. Will this experience change him? Also, are you glad you went with a threesome for this series? Or do you sometimes regret it?
Beryl

You aren't the first one to tell me you would have hunted me down. My proofer, Rachel, said something similar, as did about one hundred emails that I've gotten. I won't ever kill off Ethan, Elizabeth or Callen in a book, UNLESS I'm ending the series. As far as I'm concerned, they're all integral to the storyline. Despite what some people think, they are the true loves of their lives. Ethan can't live without Lyzee, she can't live without Callen or Ethan, and the brothers have a bond that is unbreakable. I liken it to the perfect man, split in two. Callen is the lighter more funny one, and Ethan is the reliable more stable one. Well, until the end of Devil Hath Come. It's all up in the air for Consumed By Wrath (Book 8).

Ethan has a bumpy road back to his life. How could you not? You can't get abducted and tortured, and not stumble. If there weren't issues, the books wouldn't feel real. You're going to see him going to therapy, struggling to hold his marriage and family together, and dealing with anger he can't let go of.
In fact, pay attention to the shrink in Consumed by Wrath (book 8). She's the lead character in the Carter Chronicles, Sinner Repent (book 1). It's where you get your first peek at Dr. Callista Carter- Gaines.
Life is going to change, and you the reader are going to watch it happen.

I was warned before I wrote the threesome into the series. If I did it right, it would be amazing. If I didn't, the series was going to be a flop. Fortunately for me, I managed to hit just the right notes, tie in the Native traditions, and pull it off. A threesome can go from tolerable to trashy in a heartbeat. When people slam Deep Dark Mire, it's not because of the sex scenes, it's usually because they can't believe that you can have more than one true love in your life. That's what trips them up. I'm very glad I went with the threesome. I wouldn't change a damn thing. I don't regret having them be a couple. I think that I gave the reader enough time to adjust (3 books) before it happened, and I gave them 3 more books to watch their romance unfold. Now, it just seems like it's always been that way.
I am more than pleased with how came out.
I love them.

Thank you for the questions!
Keep them coming!

The team is about to start working on Blood Red Rage in November, and I can't wait for it to roll out in January. It's going to be fun! (or so I hope!)

Keep reading, emailing and reviewing!
I love hearing from you all!
Off to work!

Much Love, Mayhem, and Murder,

Morgan.

Weekend is here!

Happy Weekend all!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I am still alive! I'm just buried in lots of work. Where I thought I would take it easy for the fall, it's not working out that way.

We've pretty much finalized the book schedule for next year, and I figured that I would post it tentatively, so you can see what you all have to look forward to!

Remember, this list is subject to change, as are the titles.

2013/2014/15 Book schedule

December- Nothing

January 2014 - Blood Red Rage (book 1) Littlemoon Investigation series.
February- Consumed by Wrath (book 8) FBI series
March - Sinner Repent (book 1) The Carter Chronicles trilogy
April- Love is Bleeding (book 4) Croft & Croft
May- Nothing
June- Lost & Broken (book 2) Littlemoon Investigation series
July - Nothing

March - Hell is Burning (book 6) Croft & Croft series.

Okay, this is what the next  months look like. Will it change? Maybe. If you haven't noticed, I'm going to try and give you 10 full novels in one year. The good news? I have up to March done. I'll be working on Lost & Broken next month, and potentially Love is Bleeding around Christmas. If I can pull them off, my editor and proofer are set to go.
The bad news is that this may kill me, and I'll never write again!
Okay, that was a little over dramatic!

So, I'm taking 3 months off out of 16.
Don't ever say I don't love you all!

Keep reading, emailing me and reviewing!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

YAY!

Just thought I would pop in and give you all an update.
Consumed by Wrath (book 8) in the FBI series is done. Yeah, it took me two extra days, but it is finally finished. Twelve days after starting it, I've given birth to yet another bouncing baby Love/murder fest.

It was emotional and a tough one to write.
In a way, I'm glad it's done. By now, you all know how I ended the last book, so you're aware of the heartache and drama that I had to deal with for the next book.
What better holiday to handle it than Valentine's Day?

So, the next book picks up four months later, and a lot has gone on.
Someone is pulling away from the family.
There are scars from all the wounds and emotional shots they all took.
There is life, death, yada yada.
Often, I'm asked how I come up with the names of the books, and usually, they have something to do with the story line.
In this case, the title of the book is a play on a couple of things. The consumed part is about the cannibal, but it's also about the wrath that is consuming the family, as they struggle to heal over what has happened in book 7.

I absolutely love this book. It starts a little different than my other books. I generally go right into the crime, but how could I when the crime fighting team is damaged?
So, in Consumed by Wrath, we have to deal with the heartache first. Put a big ol' band aid on it, and then roll into the CANNIBAL killer.

Yeah, I know.

In fact, my mother, who is often (<----Read that as always) appalled by my killers, now believes that I have gone too far.
Yes, I've taunted God.
Mocked pretty much every thing I could.
Killed for Christmas.
and now had a cannibal for Valentine's Day.

LOOK OUT EASTER BUNNY.  (just kidding)

Tell you the truth, when I tell my straight laced, very religious, and super squeamish mother, if she doesn't say 'Oh Morgan, what did I do wrong?' Than I know it could be better.

How's that mom? You're my gross out barometer.

Anyway...

I have a busy next few weeks.

I do the final read through of Christmas is Killing (book 3). It's releasing in November.

I am adding details to a book entitled Sinner Repent (book 1) - It's the new series that I'm rolling out, also tied into FBI West. Much like when I wrote Celestia is Falling, I wanted to link it back to the main series, but just have different Characters and different story lines. In this series, you're going to meet A psychiatrist that worked/works for the FBI and the man she falls for... He's like Elizabeth, but only the alpha male. (If you read carefully in February, you'll see the Doctor pop up in Consumed by Wrath...) I'm not sure if this will be a series, or a trilogy. I can go a few ways with it, but I haven't decided yet. (This will be a straight romance/thriller series. No threesomes :) I know some of you worry about that, so there you go.)

I will also be getting Blood Red Rage (book 1) to the team on November 1st. That's the first book in the Littlemoon series, and I hope you all love it. I will be doing my final read through next week and then off my baby goes, to be cleaned up.

Lastly, I will be adding details to Consumed by Wrath (book 8) sometime in December. Then, I will be taking a few days off until January 1st, to eat, drink and celebrate Yule/Christmas.

Thank you all for the awesome emails! I got them all and will start answering them tonight and tomorrow in the morning. Thank you for your comments and reviews on the new book, and I will pass on to the editing team that you send your love and appreciation for a job well done! (They rock!)

Have a good night!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Christmas is Killing...

Hi all!
Happy morning to you all!
I'm here with my coffee and I thought I would pop in for an update.

Christmas is Killing is just about done. It is being edited and proofed at the same time, and all I need to do is my final read through. Unfortunately, I'm the one holding this one up.
Right now, I'm balancing three books at once. Christmas is Killing (3), Blood Red Rage (1) and Consumed by Wrath (8).
I had hoped to release Christmas is Killing by November 1st, but it's not going to happen. It will most likely be out by the middle of November. My original date was the 15th, and that's where it's likely to stay.

Today I received an email, and I thought I would share it with you.
It was pertinent, so here it goes.

Morgan,
You mentioned that you're almost done with the next book in the FBI series. Will you be releasing it early? I loved Devil Hath Come. It was your finest work yet! Each book gets better and better.
Thank you,
Morgyn.

First of all, I love the spelling of your name. Had I thought about it, that would have been how I spelled my pen name! Okay, onto the question. I am working on Consumed by Wrath. In fact, it's more than halfway done. I started it last week, and should be finishing it Friday.
I have good news and bad news.
The good: I love it.
The bad: It's not getting released until Valentine's Day 2014 (possibly Feb 1st.)
Sorry! Even if it's cleaned up and ready to go, it's going to stay on track.
My book schedule is already set. I haven't posted it, because it still has to be finalized. I'm hoping to meet my team for dinner and go over the dates. Next year is looking like a big one, if I can pull it off. I think when we sat down to work it out, it was something like 12 books in 14 months, starting with this month's release.
If I can pull it off, it will be a miracle, but mostly the pressure falls on my team. I can write a book in 10 days and back to back, but they have to read, edit and proof them.

Again, sorry!
Keep in mind, I'm not leaving you empty handed. In November you'll have Christmas is Killing, and early January you'll have Blood Red Rage. That's the one I'm looking forward to, personally. I love Tori and Julian. I fell in love with them when I wrote book 4, 5 and 6. Thus the reason they get their own series.
So, fear not, you shall have reading to keep you busy!
I promise.

Well, back to the grind.
Have a good week!

Keep reading and reviewing!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

It's the weekend!

What are all of you doing on this fine October weekend?
I'm working, but I can't help but look out the window and enjoy the beautiful day.

The next book in the FBI series, Consumed by Wrath is now officially 1/3 done. Well, it will be today when I shut my laptop. So far, I'm pleased with it, and hope that it makes all of you happy too.
I love that we're revisiting Salem, where it all started. I am tickled to bring back Tony, Doc, Martha and the rest of the town. Some of it is new, some of it is old. Either way, its going to be interesting!
They say you can always go home.

But can you???????

I'll be working all weekend, but I still have some things to do around the house and town.
There's garden work.
The local haunted hayride is calling my name, and my kids have convinced me to go eat apple cider donuts and wander aimlessly in a corn maze.
I can't wait!
I plan on topping my Friday off with a date. Yes, I'm going to join that special guy and have a Redd's Apple Ale on the patio while I munch on wings.

I love Fridays!

I hope you all have a great weekend. By the time I post again on Monday, I may have another 4-5 chapters done. Then the book will be halfway finished.
YAY!

Thank you to my team for working so diligently on Christmas is Killing. This week they found something that even I previously missed. Whewwwwww! Thank God for those two ladies. Props to them on the awesome work they do!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Consumed by Wrath Day one...

Well, after the first day of writing, Consumed by Wrath is coming along.
I've just called it a day, and have 15,000 words down and three chapters. It's far from done, but at least I'm almost to the hardest part of the book.
I always hate writing the beginning. I would so much rather get right into the story line and then hit the end, but alas, every book needs a beginning.

Already I can tell this book is a little different. It's starting out with the emotion, where the other books have that as the middle or end.
In the beginning, we are putting Ethan's life under a microscope.
So, good times there. I hope you all love it.

I can't wait to finish it!

I'm also doing the corrections for Christmas is Killing. Yay team! The ladies are killing it! This takes a little pressure off them, and puts it all back on me, since Blood Red Rage isn't ready yet.
Alas, I shall be busy until Turkey day!

Back to the grind!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Good morning!

Happy release day, Devil Hath Come!
I already love you and cherish you!
You were a labor of love, and while you may never be perfect, I do believe you are pretty darn close.
I'm happy that I can bring you into this world for everyone to hear your story.

Thank you all for everyone that has bought it, read it, reviewed it and emailed me all about your feelings.
I am so glad that you're all happy, despite me scaring the bejezuz out of you at the end...

Sorry, but that's the name of the game.

I'm happy to tell you that I'll be going into seclusion tomorrow and getting the next book written over the next 10-12 days. Since I've already seen the positive feedback for Devil Hath Come, I feel like I can move forward with this story.

I won't offer any spoilers here, but the big situation to be addressed is the obvious. How the family will resolve the fracture in their hearts over what had happened to one of Lyzee's men. Can she survive?
Can the family and unit come back from this?
Is love strong enough to heal a broken, damaged heart?

That's going to be the primary focus on the next book, and I've picked Valentine's Day to release it. What better day than that to deal with matters of the heart and crazed killers?

Anyway, off to finish prepping for my self imposed sequester.
The team is working on Christmas is Killing (book 3) while I'm writing. We'll be getting together in October to figure out next year's book schedule. I believe it has 3 releases for each series.

More details to come.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Greetings

Happy Sunday all!

I'm just popping in to tell you all how much I appreciate the reviews and emails for Devil Hath Come!
I'm super happy that you're all loving the new book as much as I do! Some have asked how I'll top it, and I'm already working on it in my mind. I will warn you, after talking with the team, book 8 Consumed by Wrath isn't going to be a drama fest. I need to clean up a few loose ends and get closure for all involved.

Devil Hath Come was an emotional rollercoaster, and we're going to give Elizabeth a little break.
NAH, we're not. She's going to work on the issues that popped up with the killer taking one of her men and a new conductor to the serial killer crazy train.  In the next installment, she's heading home. It's been over three years since she's been to Salem. Well, that's about to change. Home sweet home has never been such hell...

If you read the hook for the next book, you know what's coming...
Mmmmmmmmmmm... BBQ

I'll give you more details as the book unfolds. I begin writing it Tuesday. I really can't wait!!!
For those of you patiently waiting for the next Croft & Croft book, Christmas is Killing (book 3) will be out in November around Thanksgiving.

I'm excited a bout that one. Everyone on the team has fallen in love with it too. I hope you all love it!

Last but not least, Blood Red Rage (book 1) is off to proofing before Halloween. My team is excited to see what happens to the Littlemoons. I can't wait to write book 2. I already have it outlined in my head.

My team is having a dinner meeting in October sometime to go over next year's schedule. It's looking jam packed! As in 12 books in 14 months.
Yeah, holy crap!
I'll let you know as soon as we discuss it!

Enjoy your weekend!
I'm off to watch some football.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

MORGAN
