Weekend is here!

Happy Weekend all!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I am still alive! I'm just buried in lots of work. Where I thought I would take it easy for the fall, it's not working out that way.

We've pretty much finalized the book schedule for next year, and I figured that I would post it tentatively, so you can see what you all have to look forward to!

Remember, this list is subject to change, as are the titles.

2013/2014/15 Book schedule

November- Christmas is Killing (book 3) Croft & Croft series
December- Nothing

January 2014 - Blood Red Rage (book 1) Littlemoon Investigation series.
February- Consumed by Wrath (book 8) FBI series
March - Sinner Repent (book 1) The Carter Chronicles trilogy
April- Love is Bleeding (book 4) Croft & Croft
May- Nothing
June- Lost & Broken (book 2) Littlemoon Investigation series
July - Nothing
August- Sinner Realized (book 2) The Carter Chronicles Trilogy
September- The Blood Seduction (book 5)
October- Redemption is Here (book 9) FBI series
November- Heaven is Weeping (book 5) Croft & Croft series
December- Unspeakable Games(book 3) Littlemoon Investigation Series

January-2015- Sinner Reborn (book 3) The Carter Chronicles Trilogy
February- Veracity of Lies (book 10) FBI series.
March - Hell is Burning (book 6) Croft & Croft series.

Okay, this is what the next  months look like. Will it change? Maybe. If you haven't noticed, I'm going to try and give you 10 full novels in one year. The good news? I have up to March done. I'll be working on Lost & Broken next month, and potentially Love is Bleeding around Christmas. If I can pull them off, my editor and proofer are set to go.
The bad news is that this may kill me, and I'll never write again!
Okay, that was a little over dramatic!

So, I'm taking 3 months off out of 16.
Don't ever say I don't love you all!

Keep reading, emailing me and reviewing!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

YAY!

Just thought I would pop in and give you all an update.
Consumed by Wrath (book 8) in the FBI series is done. Yeah, it took me two extra days, but it is finally finished. Twelve days after starting it, I've given birth to yet another bouncing baby Love/murder fest.

It was emotional and a tough one to write.
In a way, I'm glad it's done. By now, you all know how I ended the last book, so you're aware of the heartache and drama that I had to deal with for the next book.
What better holiday to handle it than Valentine's Day?

So, the next book picks up four months later, and a lot has gone on.
Someone is pulling away from the family.
There are scars from all the wounds and emotional shots they all took.
There is life, death, yada yada.
Often, I'm asked how I come up with the names of the books, and usually, they have something to do with the story line.
In this case, the title of the book is a play on a couple of things. The consumed part is about the cannibal, but it's also about the wrath that is consuming the family, as they struggle to heal over what has happened in book 7.

I absolutely love this book. It starts a little different than my other books. I generally go right into the crime, but how could I when the crime fighting team is damaged?
So, in Consumed by Wrath, we have to deal with the heartache first. Put a big ol' band aid on it, and then roll into the CANNIBAL killer.

Yeah, I know.

In fact, my mother, who is often (<----Read that as always) appalled by my killers, now believes that I have gone too far.
Yes, I've taunted God.
Mocked pretty much every thing I could.
Killed for Christmas.
and now had a cannibal for Valentine's Day.

LOOK OUT EASTER BUNNY.  (just kidding)

Tell you the truth, when I tell my straight laced, very religious, and super squeamish mother, if she doesn't say 'Oh Morgan, what did I do wrong?' Than I know it could be better.

How's that mom? You're my gross out barometer.

Anyway...

I have a busy next few weeks.

I do the final read through of Christmas is Killing (book 3). It's releasing in November.

I am adding details to a book entitled Sinner Repent (book 1) - It's the new series that I'm rolling out, also tied into FBI West. Much like when I wrote Celestia is Falling, I wanted to link it back to the main series, but just have different Characters and different story lines. In this series, you're going to meet A psychiatrist that worked/works for the FBI and the man she falls for... He's like Elizabeth, but only the alpha male. (If you read carefully in February, you'll see the Doctor pop up in Consumed by Wrath...) I'm not sure if this will be a series, or a trilogy. I can go a few ways with it, but I haven't decided yet. (This will be a straight romance/thriller series. No threesomes :) I know some of you worry about that, so there you go.)

I will also be getting Blood Red Rage (book 1) to the team on November 1st. That's the first book in the Littlemoon series, and I hope you all love it. I will be doing my final read through next week and then off my baby goes, to be cleaned up.

Lastly, I will be adding details to Consumed by Wrath (book 8) sometime in December. Then, I will be taking a few days off until January 1st, to eat, drink and celebrate Yule/Christmas.

Thank you all for the awesome emails! I got them all and will start answering them tonight and tomorrow in the morning. Thank you for your comments and reviews on the new book, and I will pass on to the editing team that you send your love and appreciation for a job well done! (They rock!)

Have a good night!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Christmas is Killing...

Hi all!
Happy morning to you all!
I'm here with my coffee and I thought I would pop in for an update.

Christmas is Killing is just about done. It is being edited and proofed at the same time, and all I need to do is my final read through. Unfortunately, I'm the one holding this one up.
Right now, I'm balancing three books at once. Christmas is Killing (3), Blood Red Rage (1) and Consumed by Wrath (8).
I had hoped to release Christmas is Killing by November 1st, but it's not going to happen. It will most likely be out by the middle of November. My original date was the 15th, and that's where it's likely to stay.

Today I received an email, and I thought I would share it with you.
It was pertinent, so here it goes.

Morgan,
You mentioned that you're almost done with the next book in the FBI series. Will you be releasing it early? I loved Devil Hath Come. It was your finest work yet! Each book gets better and better.
Thank you,
Morgyn.

First of all, I love the spelling of your name. Had I thought about it, that would have been how I spelled my pen name! Okay, onto the question. I am working on Consumed by Wrath. In fact, it's more than halfway done. I started it last week, and should be finishing it Friday.
I have good news and bad news.
The good: I love it.
The bad: It's not getting released until Valentine's Day 2014 (possibly Feb 1st.)
Sorry! Even if it's cleaned up and ready to go, it's going to stay on track.
My book schedule is already set. I haven't posted it, because it still has to be finalized. I'm hoping to meet my team for dinner and go over the dates. Next year is looking like a big one, if I can pull it off. I think when we sat down to work it out, it was something like 12 books in 14 months, starting with this month's release.
If I can pull it off, it will be a miracle, but mostly the pressure falls on my team. I can write a book in 10 days and back to back, but they have to read, edit and proof them.

Again, sorry!
Keep in mind, I'm not leaving you empty handed. In November you'll have Christmas is Killing, and early January you'll have Blood Red Rage. That's the one I'm looking forward to, personally. I love Tori and Julian. I fell in love with them when I wrote book 4, 5 and 6. Thus the reason they get their own series.
So, fear not, you shall have reading to keep you busy!
I promise.

Well, back to the grind.
Have a good week!

Keep reading and reviewing!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

It's the weekend!

What are all of you doing on this fine October weekend?
I'm working, but I can't help but look out the window and enjoy the beautiful day.

The next book in the FBI series, Consumed by Wrath is now officially 1/3 done. Well, it will be today when I shut my laptop. So far, I'm pleased with it, and hope that it makes all of you happy too.
I love that we're revisiting Salem, where it all started. I am tickled to bring back Tony, Doc, Martha and the rest of the town. Some of it is new, some of it is old. Either way, its going to be interesting!
They say you can always go home.

But can you???????

I'll be working all weekend, but I still have some things to do around the house and town.
There's garden work.
The local haunted hayride is calling my name, and my kids have convinced me to go eat apple cider donuts and wander aimlessly in a corn maze.
I can't wait!
I plan on topping my Friday off with a date. Yes, I'm going to join that special guy and have a Redd's Apple Ale on the patio while I munch on wings.

I love Fridays!

I hope you all have a great weekend. By the time I post again on Monday, I may have another 4-5 chapters done. Then the book will be halfway finished.
YAY!

Thank you to my team for working so diligently on Christmas is Killing. This week they found something that even I previously missed. Whewwwwww! Thank God for those two ladies. Props to them on the awesome work they do!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Consumed by Wrath Day one...

Well, after the first day of writing, Consumed by Wrath is coming along.
I've just called it a day, and have 15,000 words down and three chapters. It's far from done, but at least I'm almost to the hardest part of the book.
I always hate writing the beginning. I would so much rather get right into the story line and then hit the end, but alas, every book needs a beginning.

Already I can tell this book is a little different. It's starting out with the emotion, where the other books have that as the middle or end.
In the beginning, we are putting Ethan's life under a microscope.
So, good times there. I hope you all love it.

I can't wait to finish it!

I'm also doing the corrections for Christmas is Killing. Yay team! The ladies are killing it! This takes a little pressure off them, and puts it all back on me, since Blood Red Rage isn't ready yet.
Alas, I shall be busy until Turkey day!

Back to the grind!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Good morning!

Happy release day, Devil Hath Come!
I already love you and cherish you!
You were a labor of love, and while you may never be perfect, I do believe you are pretty darn close.
I'm happy that I can bring you into this world for everyone to hear your story.

Thank you all for everyone that has bought it, read it, reviewed it and emailed me all about your feelings.
I am so glad that you're all happy, despite me scaring the bejezuz out of you at the end...

Sorry, but that's the name of the game.

I'm happy to tell you that I'll be going into seclusion tomorrow and getting the next book written over the next 10-12 days. Since I've already seen the positive feedback for Devil Hath Come, I feel like I can move forward with this story.

I won't offer any spoilers here, but the big situation to be addressed is the obvious. How the family will resolve the fracture in their hearts over what had happened to one of Lyzee's men. Can she survive?
Can the family and unit come back from this?
Is love strong enough to heal a broken, damaged heart?

That's going to be the primary focus on the next book, and I've picked Valentine's Day to release it. What better day than that to deal with matters of the heart and crazed killers?

Anyway, off to finish prepping for my self imposed sequester.
The team is working on Christmas is Killing (book 3) while I'm writing. We'll be getting together in October to figure out next year's book schedule. I believe it has 3 releases for each series.

More details to come.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Greetings

Happy Sunday all!

I'm just popping in to tell you all how much I appreciate the reviews and emails for Devil Hath Come!
I'm super happy that you're all loving the new book as much as I do! Some have asked how I'll top it, and I'm already working on it in my mind. I will warn you, after talking with the team, book 8 Consumed by Wrath isn't going to be a drama fest. I need to clean up a few loose ends and get closure for all involved.

Devil Hath Come was an emotional rollercoaster, and we're going to give Elizabeth a little break.
NAH, we're not. She's going to work on the issues that popped up with the killer taking one of her men and a new conductor to the serial killer crazy train.  In the next installment, she's heading home. It's been over three years since she's been to Salem. Well, that's about to change. Home sweet home has never been such hell...

If you read the hook for the next book, you know what's coming...
Mmmmmmmmmmm... BBQ

I'll give you more details as the book unfolds. I begin writing it Tuesday. I really can't wait!!!
For those of you patiently waiting for the next Croft & Croft book, Christmas is Killing (book 3) will be out in November around Thanksgiving.

I'm excited a bout that one. Everyone on the team has fallen in love with it too. I hope you all love it!

Last but not least, Blood Red Rage (book 1) is off to proofing before Halloween. My team is excited to see what happens to the Littlemoons. I can't wait to write book 2. I already have it outlined in my head.

My team is having a dinner meeting in October sometime to go over next year's schedule. It's looking jam packed! As in 12 books in 14 months.
Yeah, holy crap!
I'll let you know as soon as we discuss it!

Enjoy your weekend!
I'm off to watch some football.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

MORGAN

 ~ Prologue ~
       Sunday Midnight
Eight nights until Halloween

The darkness came and swallowed all of the surroundings in its inky blackness.

When the night became so dark that its wicked tendrils reached for any iota of light to consume them too, and he knew it was time.

He was ready for the ritual.

The witching hour was upon him.

It had all come down to this. He was prepared to make sure that it all was done correctly and to the specifications of his dark Lord. After all, there was no room to screw this up.

There was too much at stake.

As he began his journey, he knew that he’d risk it all and offer anything that he could in order to reach his final goal. Now, it was time to prove his dedication and love to the master. This would be the perfect homage to the dark that he loved so much. The evil had given him strength and focus, and it was time to give back the ultimate gift.

Standing in the circle, he began by calling the quarters to offer himself protection. It was the first step and vital as he allowed the energy to flow through him and offer guidance.

It was ancient power and ultimate supremacy.

First, there were the guardians of the north. He lured them in with promises of the events that were yet to come. Once he could feel them present and surrounding his beloved circle, he moved to the next element. One by one, he began calling for the watchtowers of west, south and finally east. As they arrived to meet and bless him, he knew he was ready to begin.

Giddiness filled him as he glanced around at what he was creating in the seclusion of the woods.

It was perfect.

Learning to master the circle had not been easy. He had been forced to do online research and ask questions of those who would offer unsuspected tutelage. Once he had received his answers, he was careful to invert it all. The way of the witch would only get him so far. Now, he was crossing into a whole new realm and there, ignorance wasn’t bliss.

It had taken time to learn it all. Although he’d studied up in the Wiccan principles and was somewhat familiar, he was well aware that worshipping the darkness was the direct opposite. Where there was light, now must be dark. Everything needed to be reversed, if he wanted to beckon forth the master.

Finding the way to his ultimate path was incredibly cathartic. Gone were all the intentions of dabbling in the white magic of the witch, and here were the beckoning of the darker, more sinister beings he longed to please.

No, there could be no Wicca tonight.

Witchcraft had served its purpose, and now it was dead to him.

It had been consumed and devoured by the true power in life. Everything had morphed from light and airy to black, evil and full of gloomy foreboding. Tonight, it would be all about giving his Lord a gift as he stole away life from the woman waiting inside the circle at his feet. Something powerful was growing and it would rupture from him in victory.

It was the age old battle of good and evil.

The ugliness lived in him and begged for release.

For the victim tonight, it was coming to an end.

He could hear her whispering useless spells to the Goddess, and yet he gave her no mind. Tonight, it was about doing everything by the book. Well, sort of… It was about kneeling before a powerful deity and not pretending that a Goddess could give them anything but entertainment.

Here was the proof, as the strong survived and the weak crumbled under the weight of reality.

The silly witches- if they only knew and understood what they were missing by their rule of threefold. The journey into the darkness was far more rewarding.

If they would just cross that line, then they might see the truth. There was so much more power and things to be offered by worshiping at the altar of the dark Lord.

It was immeasurable.

It was fulfilling.

It was his destiny.

Lighting the black candles, he extinguished the match in the cauldron full of cemetery dirt. Everything on his altar was handpicked to be special for this evening. There was plenty of Mandrake, Hellsbane and Belladonna. With it, he would call for the most powerful darkness he could muster.

All those who tried to stand against him should quake in fear. This would mean their death.

He was finally coming for them. After months of careful preparation, the time had come to make his move. With the holiday approaching and the new moon on the horizon, it was the start of what was meant to be.

Deep within the recesses of his mind, he could hear his Master urging him to begin. There would be no saying no. He pushed away all rationale and gave in to the quiet urgings in his head.

It is time,’ the voice whispered.

He knew it to be intervention from the darkness. This was his sign that he needed to make that first step into his new life.

Sprinkling the altar with salt, he stared down at the woman on the ground. “Are you ready, witch?”

She fought to move away from him with all her strength. In her mind, she believed that if she broke through the protective circle of salt, she would earn her freedom. But to no avail. He was stronger and the look of madness across his twisted features spoke of her fate.

All that was left was to fight.

As he leaned over her, she grabbed the chain around his neck and yanked. If he were to win, at least she would have a piece of his identity. When the chain snapped from his neck, he didn't even flinch.

The man seemed possessed by something so dark.

“Stop fighting me, or I’ll make sure your death is as painful as possible!” he hissed as he backhanded her across the face. The gasp from her only fueled him more, as the woman’s pain offered additional glory to his Master.

The strike rendered her motionless, as the vicious sting registered through her body and the tears began to fall. Out loud, she began calling to the Goddess Nyx, begging her for protection. Surely, her mistress would grant her this one thing. This invocation would be her final chance. If it was meant to be, she would be saved from his madness. If not, then it was her time.

As evil stood above her, he mocked her and the little ‘prayer’ she sent out. With his ravings, he tried to break her faith. Sadly, he was succeeding. The fear filled her, as she called to the deity who she believed would protect her. She would be heard; it wouldn’t end like this.

Right?

Ripping through the offensive clothing on her body, he rendered the gauzy material as if it was nothing. For what he had planned, he would need access to her flesh.

Lifting her into his arms, he placed her across the altar. All that remained was to securely bind her. First, he went to her feet and used the roots of the tree to hold them in place. Once they were bound, the witch wouldn’t have a fighting chance.

It was inevitable.

Her end was coming.

There was no doubt in her mind that before she departed this world, she must leave a clue. Since her life was coming to a close, she would give the police something to use against him. Kicking her legs to make him work harder, she forced the focus on her feet until the deed was done. Maybe one of the coven members would recognize the necklace and help the police find her killer. Tossing the broken chain into her mouth, she nearly retched as she fought to struggle get it down.

She prayed the Goddess would lead the authorities to the coven of witches.

Among them, they would find the truth.

Or at least, she prayed that they would.

His temper began to rise as he had to fight to control her. Striking her again, this time in the abdomen, he stole her breath and found her more manageable.

“You must like pain, witch,” he hissed angrily.

Her words were gone like her breath.

After subduing her, he moved to her arms to do the same, only this time he stared down into her tear filled eyes. “You will be a wonderful gift for my master.”

She turned her head as he fastened her arms in place. Already in her mind, she’d begun to acknowledge her fate. These were her final moments among the living. Soon, she would be crossing into the unknown.

“So mote it be,” she whispered as the closing to her final prayer.

His laughter filled the night, as he’d found her demise amusing. “When I came across the stump, I knew it would be the perfect spot to take your life.” There was pride in what he’d found and put together all by himself. Who would have thought he could pull it off? “It was meant to be, witch. It was like nature created this altar just for this occasion.”

She offered no reply. Calm had settled over her as the peace of her beliefs took root in her soul and heart. She would pass, but it would be into the arms of her religion.

This was only the beginning.

Fate had already written this chapter in the book of her life.

She was ready to meet her maker, as he would one day too. His judgment would be coming; it was only a matter of time.

Once he’d finished binding her, it was time to begin the ritual and offer up the woman to his God.

“I would have preferred a virgin, but you’ll have to do,” he taunted as he opened the small cage and pulled out the raven. He’d picked that bird specifically.

“Why are you doing this?” she whispered, struggling against the bonds as the chilly air drew goose bumps across her flesh.

“I’m giving my Lord a present in hopes that he’ll give me what I desire most in life. I wish to be strong and have power!”

She spat in his face. “You’re insane and out of your mind. There is no devil!” and then she began chanting more.

His wicked laughter filled the night. “You have no idea what lives in the darkness, witch. You’re naïve as you pray to your elements and dabble with your herbs.” With those worlds, he too began chanting in the ancient Latin he had studied.

In his one hand, he held the bird over her body. With his other, he used the athame to decapitate it. The splash of blood covered her pale flesh as it ran across her naked torso in sick rivulets.

“Tonight, I offer you this woman for your pleasure my Lord. I ask that you send me the one I desire, and I will find a way to make her an offering like none before,” he promised as he chanted over the weeping woman.

It was too late, and her tears wouldn’t matter.

As of now, he was in control.

He lifted the athame with the horned God on the handle and held it to her throat. “I give you this woman for your pleasure, master. I offer her life with the swift hand of violence! Take her!” With the words, his hand moved efficiently and made one single slice deep into her throat. The shower of blood arched through the air in a sickly spray. It covered the ground in droplets and splatters as life leached from her to fill the night with the scent of death.

There was a scream and then a gurgle as life oozed and bubbled through the gouge in her throat.

Her eyes went huge from the shock of his actions.

Breath hissed in release from her lungs.

All sound around them ceased, as death entered their presence to claim yet one more young life.

The chanting in Latin continued, until every drop of her blood had spilled at his feet. When she was spent, so were his words for the dark Lord.

Once he was finally sure that there was no life left in the body before him, he cut the ropes and placed her in position to begin the carving. Now, he’d leave the symbol and finally the note. It was the most important part of the production and bound to get her attention.

His master had promised him so.

When he had seen the woman on the news, it was obvious that she needed to be his final offering. With her eyes so icy and her inky curls, he knew it was a sign. She was the one.

This beautiful woman would be the chosen bride for the darkness. Everything pointed to her being the perfect offering. When he slept at night, he could see her in his dreams.

It had to be a message from his Lord. She was to be both his final obstacle and ultimate reward. If he defeated her and stuck to his goal, then she would be the one who brought him his glory.

It was only a matter of time until she arrived.

Oh, he had a way to assure that it would be happening.

It was rather simple. He was well aware that ego would win every single time. No one could resist a chance to prove they were the best at the game and somehow, he believed she would love the opportunity.

He had done his research on her.

If anything, finding and tracking her had been easy, especially to her home. When he had followed her, she was never alone. Since she didn't live more than two hours away, it was like a field trip and could be done quite often.

It had been so easy to slip away to track his prey.

He had loved every second of it too.

Stalking her had been a great learning experience. He went as far as purchasing a day pass to watch her run at the gym with the men. In sheer jealousy, he had watched her kiss one partner and then the other. He had been forced to witness her being playfully tossed back and forth between them, as they walked to their car. It fed the rage in his body.

She was his.

Once, he had even followed the threesome through their day. They had left that mega-plex office building and ventured home, and he was right behind them. When they pulled into the garage of their big stone house, he was envious that he couldn’t see inside. He wanted to know everything about her.

What did she eat?

Where did she sleep?

What were her favorite things in life?

Part of that he already knew. All three liked tattoos a great deal, and had them plastered all over their bodies. He had been forced to watch as she absently stroked them on both men’s bodies. It almost made him want to run out and get one.

It was hard to not notice that she loved Indians. They were everywhere. From the two men she was always kissing to the older one who took walks with the children. She had her own little tribe, but not for long.

Soon, she’d see that he was a far better male specimen. The men in her life would fall away when she finally learned the truth.

She was destined to be his.

He couldn’t wait to just tell her why he was doing all this. Wouldn’t she be surprised?

How could he explain that she had caught his eye? When the media called her the best, he knew she was the one.

When he saw her, the voice in his head screamed in demand. She was the one and his master had to have her.

She was perfect for so many reasons, but mostly because there was a secrecy about them, and that intrigued him. No one could find anything out about her, but he had. When it came to what he needed, the woman must be flawless, so that when she lost to him, it would only be that much better. He’d made the bargain with the devil and now he needed to follow through. The woman he found was beautiful, smart and successful.

When you made an offering, it had to be the best you could find, and no one could top this one.

She would be his crescendo and final victory.

If she could defeat him, there was no doubt that he would be the one going to meet the all-powerful one.

But… if he won the battle then he’d be stronger.

The devil promised.

He’d heard the words in his dreams. They bounced about in his brain as a reminder of who owned him.

He had the mission, the ultimate prize and the goal in sight. Now, it was a matter of luring her there. He’d watched her enough to see that she was proud, bossy and possibly arrogant.  When it all came down to it, there’d be one way to draw her to the trap.

To get her attention, all he needed to do was openly challenge her.

He already knew that she would never come alone. The men who surrounded her would never agree to that. She wore their matching rings and was the apple of both of their eyes.

Well, now she was his too.

Or she would be shortly.

As he finished with the carving, he slipped into a pair of gloves and left the carefully worded note tucked into the wound in her throat.

It entertained him that it was held perfectly like a place card at a table. The invitation was set, and now it was only a matter of getting the woman to come to him and begin the chase.

Releasing the quarters and setting the guardians free, he moved safely out of the circle. Stepping out of his clothes, he stoked the fire that he’d set earlier. He was well prepared for what was to come. The perfect scene must be set, and he’d hide any evidence of his existence there.

It was time to eliminate the proof of what he’d done, and since his master lived in fire, what better way?

If the media was right, all three were very good at their jobs and always found the killer.

So, he’d have to be better.

Tossing his clothes into the flames, he added the gloves and the wipes that he used to clean the blood from his face and arms.

There were more sacrifices to plan. Murder didn't just plot itself. His laughter filled the night air. “Right, witch?” he asked the dead woman, as he enjoyed the screams that were forever saved in his mind.

Scanning the scene he had set, he marked everything off his mental checklist. The fire would put itself out, and before long someone would find the woman and read the note. He’d done an excellent job, if he did say so himself.

It was perfect.

Staring at the note, he knew its importance. Once she was found, they’d call for the raven haired beauty and she’d come.

There was no way that she would turn her back on a killing.

She was one of those who fought for justice, and he was one who would triumph for the darkness.

The battle was brewing.

At this point, it could be anyone’s game.

For now, he would bide his time and wait for her arrival.  Soon, his final victim would show up, and he’d do what he’d promised. He would hand her over to his new God and claim his reward.

It was time for Elizabeth Blackhawk to prove her worth.

Or die trying….

Ahhhh... Happy Hump Day.

It's the middle of the week, and everyone that's popping into the blog is wondering the same thing.

Will there be an early release of Devil Hath Come?
I believe the answer to that is yes.

Currently, the editor is up to chapter sixteen with the final proofing, and that means in 4 chapters, it shall be done.
Whew!
Once it's finished, it will be on its way.

I really hope that you all love it. If you've been following the series from book one, you should be pleased. (Or at least I hope so!)

For today, I'm going to answer the question that I am most frequently asked.

Morgan,
You get a lot of crap about the threesome. Wouldn't it be easier to just kill off one of the men and make everyone happy?
Deveraux

Ah, alas, this question. I've been saving it, since it is now very apropos.
To be honest, it would be easier, but I doubt that everyone would be happy. It would cut back on the nasty reviews, the hate filled emails and the general BS that I get over having two brothers share a woman.
Unfortunately, for those that know me personally, rarely do I take the easy road in life. (Much to my mother's chagrin.)
Now, before you draw conclusions, I'm not confirming one way or another if someone dies in this book. I know there has been this 'Team Ethan' and 'Team Callen' mentality on some of the blogs, where people are betting who I kill off,  and everyone will just have to wait.

Maybe I do it, maybe I don't.

I will say that between Devil Hath Come (book 7) and Consumed by Wrath (book 8), Elizabeth is going to lose someone that she loves very much. (As in dead, not missing) I really can't say more because the book isn't out yet, and book 8 isn't written. A lot can happen as I sit down to pen a novel, so your guess may be as good as mine.

*wink*

I'm generally a big believer in happily ever after, so I will warn you that Devil Hath Come will not have closure at the end. There will be tears, 'what if's' and much change coming. I'm asking you to bear with me, and trust me to wrap it up by the next book. It's like True Love Lost (book three). Coming out of it, we knew that Callen was destined for something more, and it took a book or two to start his path.
This novel is going to be the same.

With these storylines, and 540 pages (at last count), I need a little wiggle room to tell the tale. I honestly feel that if I wrapped it up at the end of each book, it would feel rushed and artificial. So, I'm asking for a little latitude.

I also promise no cheap tricks.

I won't kill anyone off to have it be some secret FBI mission where they had to disappear. To me, that seems cheesy and a cop out. In my books, if you're on the chopping block, you're heading to the grave.

In this book, I also am going to answer another of your questions.

What about Christina and Kane Redwolf?

I brought them together at the end of Darkness of Truth (book 6) and you'll find out her fate too. I will tell you that her tale as part of FBI West is coming to an end...

There is so much coming in this book and Consumed by Wrath (book 8). I hope you buckle in, grab your tissues and still love me when you're done. (That's for my Rachel, who has threatened to not love me anymore if I kill off Ethan) *Wink*

It's going to be an interesting Halloween for Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen.

I hope you're all ready to get your 'scare' on....

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

P.S.
A little birdy tells me that there may or may not be a full posting of Devil Hath Come's prologue tomorrow...
Just in time for the book to be released Friday or Saturday.

 Enjoy!

Generally, I love getting emails...

but today I received one that dumbfounded me.
The person (name withheld) informed me that I was destroying the storyline of my books with the raunchy, vile, sex.
AND that I could do better to leave it out. That I would be a better writer if I didn't use sex to shock.

For the first time, I didn't reply to an email.
If you've sent me one, then you know that I get back to you pretty fast. This time, I hit delete. I get that everyone has an opinion, but had I replied it would have been very Elizabeth-esque.  (Picture her in an 'Indian' fueled tirade)  I did decide to address it here, since this is my place to vent or just speak my mind.

I happen to love sex. I mean, who doesn't? If you hate sex, you probably shouldn't be reading romances. If all you want is killing, then watch the nightly news. I'm here (name withheld) to weave a tale of love and romance.
That's my damn job.

The books are staying as is, because they are a part of me. While not perfect, possibly packed with too much sex and profanity, they are a part of my soul. If you want to know me, Morgan Kelley, then look at my books. I love the Blackhawks, and I refuse to make apologies for them, the sex or the storylines. There are about one million authors out there. If I make you cringe while reading about a threesome, find a new series. (That's what I do.)

Sometimes, I really wish Elizabeth was real and worked in the HR department for me. I would LOVE to sit back and watch her have at it. Unfortunately, that's not reality. I will say this, thank you to the people that consistently write to me to just say 'Hi' or tell me that they love the Blackhawks, Greyson the caveman and the rest of my menagerie of crazies.
I appreciate you.
A LOT.
Especially on a day where I haven't had my coffee yet and I'm cranky.

Off to work on Blood Red Rage. The show must go on...

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan.

Good morning!!!!

Happy Sunday all!
I love the weekend. It's a time to sit, relax and read a book.
Or in my case work on one.

This weekend, I've been working on Devil Hath Come (book 7). I've shipped it off to the editor and she's filtering it back chapter by chapter. As of this morning, I've received the first 5 chapters and prologue, completely done.
Today I'm going to make the corrections and prep for release!

YAY!
I'm very fortunate to have a great team of people that are willing to work hard to make my dreams come true. THANK YOU! I love you all! I'm blessed that the powers that be have put the right people in my path in life, and I'm brimming with gratitude.

This morning, as I was in bed staring at the ceiling, I had the Book 8 epiphany. Meaning, I now know the story line for Consumed by Wrath. All that I'll say is the characters are heading back to where it all started, and as usual, death will be following...
I can't wait to start writing it, but first, Blood Red Rage (book 1) needs my attention. So, tomorrow begins the three week process of adding details and getting it ready for editing.
I'm thrilled. I seriously love Julian and Tori, with all my heart!

I hope you all love them too!

Thank you for the awesome emails this weekend. I love hearing from you, and I'm touched by your words and kindness.

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan.

PS. If Devil Hath Come gets uploaded early, I will be releasing it. So, check here for the update. I'll post it the day before it releases live. If you don't visit the blog, Amazon won't be releasing emails until Oct 1st. So, pop in daily!!!!

Devil Hath Come

Morning all!

Just an update on the new release. It was scheduled for Oct 1st, and I have been desperately trying to get it out early, but I'm not 100 % sure that will be happening.
During my final approval, I found a few issues that needed to be addressed. The book has been sent back to the team to do another read through.

What that means is, the book is likely to just make the release date and not likely earlier. I had hoped to have it out by Monday next week, but instead if there is a miracle, it may make it by the 28th, at the earliest. I really want this book to be perfect, and I'm nitpicking every little thing that I find. I want to give you, the reader, the best experience as possible.
In the process, I'm making myself and everyone else a neurotic mess.
My bad....

Anyway, I'll be buried in work this entire weekend, so send me your emails and questions. I will be posting them online with answers.
I've gotten some really good ones, and I can't wait to share!

I hope you enjoy it, and fall in love with Christopher and Cyra as their romance begins. Their love story will be continuing in the next book, Consumed by Wrath (book 8). That one will be released sometime around Valentine's Day.

Have a great day!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

The old will become new once more...

Wow!
Due to an influx of emails the last few days, I've decided to switch the covers of my books back to the original ones.
I've read all your requests and an currently working on switching them back to the original artwork. I didn't think that there would be such a response to changing them, but I hear you, and I aim to please.

You'll have to give me some time, since I have to resubmit the original photos and start from scratch, but you'll start to notice the covers will be changing. First with the paperbacks, and then into the E-books.
Once you see them up on Amazon, feel free to contact them for a manual push for the update. You'll then have the covers back on your Kindles.

On my way home today, so look for the original covers to be popping up in the next couple of days!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

All good things must come to an end...

Morning all!

Well, vacation is over. I'm taking a few minutes from packing up a months worth of luggage to
post today's blog.
I fly out of beautiful Myrtle Beach tomorrow afternoon and head back to the chilly Northeast. It's a sad day and happy one at the same time. I'm excited to get back to work and see the husband, but sad to leave the surf and sun.

It's going to be a busy fall and I hope that you're all ready.
Between now and February, the team and I are going to be releasing 4 books.
They've been a labor of love and I hope you love them.

I'm looking forward to Julian and Tori's series. It's fun and sweet. I can't wait to start working on it. As of now, it's fully written and at 400 pages. It just needs details and clean up before the team sees it.
I'm nervous.
No one has seen it yet, and I always have butterflies as I wonder what people will think about it. I think the hardest part of my job is finding a way to make the books stand out. With the FBI series it was the threesome and Elizabeth's bad ass attitude. With Croft & Croft, it's Greyson's caveman antics and a twist coming in book 5. With Littlemoon Investigations, I had to find a new angle. I finally decided to go with a psychic twist for one permanent character.  I think it will set the pace for the series and hopefully, keep you all entertained.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you all that I appreciate you for your loyalty, awesome reviews and great emails.  Once I'm home, there will be Q&A posts once more.

As it looks, Devil hath Come (book 7) will be out early. My goal was Oct 1 st, but it will likely release in a week. Once I get home and reconstruct my house, I'll post the details.
(The husband has been left to his own devices for a month.  It may not be pretty...)

Start sending your emails and questions.  Morgan Kelley is back to work and it's a new year! Buckle up, hold your breath and get ready for some Love, Mayhem and Murder....

Always,

MK

Thank you all...

Yesterday I gave away The Killing Times for free, and it was a record breaking download! So, thank you all that are planning to read the book and hopefully continue on with the series.
I hope that you all fall in love with Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen as much as I have.

Vacation is just about over. I'm heading back north on Monday, and back to the grind. It was a great month at the beach, and I look forward to coming back next year. I didn't get a great deal of work done, but that's the point of vacation.

Devil Hath Come (book 7) will be complete in a little over a week. I just have to sit down and read the final copy to make sure that I'm good with all the corrections.

Christmas is Killing (book 3) is corrected and heading off to the final edit with my new team. That will be done early too. YAY! I love when we smash a schedule and get everything done early! It takes the pressure off me.

Blood Red Rage (book 1) is in need of details and the first read through. That's going to happen around the first of October. That's a two - three week process and should take almost the entire month.

THEN.... I begin the next book.
After all your emails and messages, I've got the next book to write.
It looks like Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen won. You've voted for Consumed by Wrath (book 8) to be your winner, with Love is Bleeding (book 4) close behind. I can't wait to write it. I already have the plot in my head, and am read to go.
I think in this book, the characters (or what's left of them... HAHAHAHAHAHA. Sorry, that was mean, even for me.) will be taking a trip back to Salem, where it all began. It should be interesting.

Okay, off to enjoy the beach for the last few days.

I can't wait to get home. I miss my office and my work, but first, a big thank you to the readers out there that continually send me emails or just dropped me a line. I appreciate you all.
I also want to thank my team of editors and proofers. They worked really hard on the last book to get it out early, eliminate the mistakes and to take the pressure off me.

I love you all!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan.

In honor of the upcoming release...

I'm going to be giving away free digital downloads of The Killing Times (book one) on 9/11.
If you've already read it, tell your friends and family! Tell them to get their freebie.
The next one won't be until spring of 2014.

Since Devil Hath Come (book 7) is due to drop in the next 2 weeks, I want everyone out there to get a chance to fall in love with Ethan, Elizabeth and Callen!

Just follow this link.

Also....

The cover is done for the new release and I finally made up my mind. I opted for a last minute change. (Thank you, Eternal Connections for another great book cover!)
Here it is...

I hope you all enjoy it when it comes out. Man, whatever could the picture on that cover mean????

*Evil laughter*

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

The end is near...

Alas, I am in the home stretch of my summer hiatus.
It's just about time to leave the beach and head back to the northeast.
It's been a great break, but now it's time to get back to work.

Devil Hath Come (book 7) arrives via UPS today for last mark up corrections and then the final read through. I can't wait to see how you all like it! For the test readers that have already had it, they said it was great!
I can't wait to get your emails and comments regarding it once it is out. It's scheduled for October 1st, but that's a weekday and I love to release my books on Fridays or Saturdays. If possible, I'll be dropping it on the 28th. (YAY! Early!!!)
You'll have to pop in here on the 27th to see if I can pull it off!

When I arrive home, I'll be working on Christmas is Killing (book 3). I need to break it down into chapters and get it to the editor for her first marking. I hope she likes it... It's one of my favorites. I have a soft spot in my heart for Emma and Greyson.

I also have to do the detail add for Blood Red Rage (book 1) in the Littlemoon Investigations series. I can't wait to reread it. I haven't looked or thought about it for about three weeks. I'll have fresh eyes and a new perspective.

I have to write one more book for this year. I'm going to put this out there for you all.
Do I do another Littlemoon book?
An FBI/Romance?
Or a Croft & Croft?
Drop me an email or post a comment. I'll let you the reader vote.

What book do you want for the March release of 2014?

Consumed by Wrath (Book 8) ~FBI/Romance ~
Love is Bleeding (Book 4) ~ Croft & Croft~
Lost & Broken (Book 2)  ~ Littlemoon investigations ~

I love you all so much, I'm giving control on this one to the readers!
Drop me an email!

Back to working on the tan.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Happy Hump day and Celstia re-release!

Morning everyone!
Happy Hump day from the beautiful beach. All the tourists have vacated and it's now just the locals. I still have two more weeks here, and am actually thinking of extending my vacation. (or moving here permanently) I really think I need to move out of the north and head south.
I'd like to say that I've been productive, but I really haven't.
On the work front, Celestia is Falling (book 1) has just been re-edited. It will be live again today, once I get it uploaded. Vegas is Dying (book 2) is now in the process of the tweaking it needs. So, if you have a first edition, give it a week and contact amazon customer service to manually push it through to you.
Devil Hath Come (book 7) is just about done. Tammy is doing the final read through and spoke to me last night. She's projecting it to be done this weekend. That means that I only need to read through it and it is ready to go on October 1st.
YAY! More Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen!

I'm currently reading through Christmas is Killing (book 3)  That one is going off to editing by the middle of this month. I would have been done with it by now, except sun and sand seem to have sidelined me. My children are beach bunnies... What can I say? (Yes, I just blamed them.)

I've been getting some great questions via email. I'm answering them as quickly as possible. Some are work related and some are personal. I'll post a few here today.

Morgan,
I love Elizabeth! She is strong and kicks ass! Please keep this series going for a long time! Do you do book clubs? My girlfriends have one and we would love to have you join us and tell us more about your books.
Valerie.

I love Elizabeth too. She is everything we all want to be. Who doesn't want to be tough, strong and be loved by a man (or two in this case) like she is? I tell everyone when I grow up that I want to be her too. (If I ever grow up, that is...)

I am intending to keep the series going, but again, it needs your help. If you haven't left a review on amazon, please do so. Publishers need feedback and so do I. When they see that people are taking a vested interest in a series, they want it to continue.

Okay, do I do book clubs. As a general rule, I don't. Not because I don't want to, but in order to put out as many books as I do in a year (10 last year) I'm really busy and can't take much down time. UNLESS, you're located near me. Then, absolutely. I just can't travel across the world for one, but if you're in my backyard, I'll do it. Drop me your details, and if I'm free, I'll do everything in my power to be there.

Morgan,
Are you really at the beach? If so, can I come steal an advanced copy of one of your books that you're working on? (P.S. I love your books. They're funny and so awesome. Thank you for Emma and Greyson. I love the alpha male!)
Melanie

This question made me laugh, and look over my shoulder while I was on the beach. If you can find me, I'll gladly give you my proof copy and I'll sign it. As for am I at the beach, I'll give you proof.

If you can figure out where I am, you're better at solving things than Elizabeth...  My only clue is that it's the southern part of the USA. Happy hunting!

Back to work for me!
Again, thank you for the questions and the giggles. I love hearing from you all!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.
