The end is near...

Alas, I am in the home stretch of my summer hiatus.
It's just about time to leave the beach and head back to the northeast.
It's been a great break, but now it's time to get back to work.

Devil Hath Come (book 7) arrives via UPS today for last mark up corrections and then the final read through. I can't wait to see how you all like it! For the test readers that have already had it, they said it was great!
I can't wait to get your emails and comments regarding it once it is out. It's scheduled for October 1st, but that's a weekday and I love to release my books on Fridays or Saturdays. If possible, I'll be dropping it on the 28th. (YAY! Early!!!)
You'll have to pop in here on the 27th to see if I can pull it off!

When I arrive home, I'll be working on Christmas is Killing (book 3). I need to break it down into chapters and get it to the editor for her first marking. I hope she likes it... It's one of my favorites. I have a soft spot in my heart for Emma and Greyson.

I also have to do the detail add for Blood Red Rage (book 1) in the Littlemoon Investigations series. I can't wait to reread it. I haven't looked or thought about it for about three weeks. I'll have fresh eyes and a new perspective.

I have to write one more book for this year. I'm going to put this out there for you all.
Do I do another Littlemoon book?
An FBI/Romance?
Or a Croft & Croft?
Drop me an email or post a comment. I'll let you the reader vote.

What book do you want for the March release of 2014?

Consumed by Wrath (Book 8) ~FBI/Romance ~
Love is Bleeding (Book 4) ~ Croft & Croft~
Lost & Broken (Book 2)  ~ Littlemoon investigations ~

I love you all so much, I'm giving control on this one to the readers!
Drop me an email!

Back to working on the tan.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Happy Hump day and Celstia re-release!

Morning everyone!
Happy Hump day from the beautiful beach. All the tourists have vacated and it's now just the locals. I still have two more weeks here, and am actually thinking of extending my vacation. (or moving here permanently) I really think I need to move out of the north and head south.
I'd like to say that I've been productive, but I really haven't.
On the work front, Celestia is Falling (book 1) has just been re-edited. It will be live again today, once I get it uploaded. Vegas is Dying (book 2) is now in the process of the tweaking it needs. So, if you have a first edition, give it a week and contact amazon customer service to manually push it through to you.
Devil Hath Come (book 7) is just about done. Tammy is doing the final read through and spoke to me last night. She's projecting it to be done this weekend. That means that I only need to read through it and it is ready to go on October 1st.
YAY! More Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen!

I'm currently reading through Christmas is Killing (book 3)  That one is going off to editing by the middle of this month. I would have been done with it by now, except sun and sand seem to have sidelined me. My children are beach bunnies... What can I say? (Yes, I just blamed them.)

I've been getting some great questions via email. I'm answering them as quickly as possible. Some are work related and some are personal. I'll post a few here today.

Morgan,
I love Elizabeth! She is strong and kicks ass! Please keep this series going for a long time! Do you do book clubs? My girlfriends have one and we would love to have you join us and tell us more about your books.
Valerie.

I love Elizabeth too. She is everything we all want to be. Who doesn't want to be tough, strong and be loved by a man (or two in this case) like she is? I tell everyone when I grow up that I want to be her too. (If I ever grow up, that is...)

I am intending to keep the series going, but again, it needs your help. If you haven't left a review on amazon, please do so. Publishers need feedback and so do I. When they see that people are taking a vested interest in a series, they want it to continue.

Okay, do I do book clubs. As a general rule, I don't. Not because I don't want to, but in order to put out as many books as I do in a year (10 last year) I'm really busy and can't take much down time. UNLESS, you're located near me. Then, absolutely. I just can't travel across the world for one, but if you're in my backyard, I'll do it. Drop me your details, and if I'm free, I'll do everything in my power to be there.

Morgan,
Are you really at the beach? If so, can I come steal an advanced copy of one of your books that you're working on? (P.S. I love your books. They're funny and so awesome. Thank you for Emma and Greyson. I love the alpha male!)
Melanie

This question made me laugh, and look over my shoulder while I was on the beach. If you can find me, I'll gladly give you my proof copy and I'll sign it. As for am I at the beach, I'll give you proof.

If you can figure out where I am, you're better at solving things than Elizabeth...  My only clue is that it's the southern part of the USA. Happy hunting!

Back to work for me!
Again, thank you for the questions and the giggles. I love hearing from you all!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Happy Labor day weekend!

Hi all!

I hope you've all got big plans this weekend. I'm actually taking a couple days off. I start work on Christmas is Killing (book 3) on Monday. I'm doing my final read through on it before it goes off for it's final approval.

I took a few days to enjoy the sun, and will heading to the beach later, but here's just a few things that I've seen and done. Maybe, you can guess where in the world Morgan in spending her month off... (Since I often get emails about why I don't post more pictures, here you go...)

This was amazing fun and a great way to get out of the 90 degree temps!

I wish I was wasting away in margaritaville! But alas, this is all about my kids, so my frosty cold tequila concoction shall have to wait!

As soon as I'm back, I'm going right back to work. (Minus the start of school for the kids.) So, I hope you're as excited as I am to read the new FBI/Romance book. I think it's pretty good, but I may be biased...

Have a great holiday weekend, and once again, thank you for the reviews on Amazon and Good Reads. I appreciate it!

Much Love, Murder and Mayhem,
Morgan

Morning Everyone!

Happy Thursday!

Just taking a moment to tell you all that Blood Red Rage, the first book in the Littlemoon Investigations series, is finally done. I'm writing the epilogue and hook to the next book.
YAY!
I love the way it came out. I also love the bond between Julian and his twin! (Fear not, all those of you that are squeamish with the threesome sex in the FBI series, I didn't go that route.) The brothers have a good solid relationship, and that's going to be the foundation for everything in this series.
We all need someone to have our backs.
In this case, it's Julian and Tori and Justin and Vivian.
Love this book!
I only wish that you all could read it now!
Alas, it still needs details and editing, but still...

I'm starting my final read through of Christmas is Killing next. It's going off to be final edited in two weeks. I can't wait for you to find out what happens in Vegas.
Life is about to get more difficult for Greyson and Emma.

I hope you're all ready for the next installment of the FBI series. The release date isn't far away now. We're talking  31 days! I hope you all love Devil Hath Come. Everyone that's proofed it or read it has said it's even better than Darkness of Truth, so, if you loved the last book, you should love the next one even more...

Last thing on my to do list for this year, I'm going to be writing the next FBI book. I'm starting to do my research and prepping for Consumed by Wrath (Book 8). I can't tell you anything about it, but I promise it will leave you hungry for more....

*Wink Wink*

Back to vacationing!

Oh, and for those of you that love Greyson and Emma, Celestia is Falling is being reedited as we speak. The book is 1/4 done. I'm not sure if there will be a new cover. I kind of like the old one.
Questions and answered next blog!

Enjoy the day!
Get reading!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

Questions for me...

Morning all!

Sorry that I've been slow to reply to emails. Where i'm at, there isn't really great cell service, and I don't have Wi-Fi. (I know...)

I have been getting more and more emails lately and by some miracle of the writing Gods, they've all been good... (I've just jinxed myself.)

Okay, let's kick this day off with a fun one!

Hi Morgan – well I have read all 6 books now in 5 weeks so what am I going to do now!!!  ;(o

I love them – Elizabeth, Ethan & Callen work so well, not seedy as I would have initially thought had some one said I would read a book that included a three way relationship but genuine feelings of love between them. I can identify with a lot of the feelings Elizabeth has, especially when Callen went off to collect his daughter and Elizabeth was frightened he had forsaken her. Loyalty in a relationship is so very important to me.

I feel quite bereft that I have nothing to fill my time. Saying that of course I have been sat here reading instead of doing my boring chores, so I now have to catch up with them!!!!
I guess that I’ll have to try your Croft & Croft Romance Adventure  Can’t wait until Halloween tho’.

Please, please, please don’t ever stop writing the Blackhawks series – Long live the Blackhawks!!!!

One thing I am intrigued about is the closeness of the publication dates do you really write them at quickly or was it a deliberate ploy to stock pile them and release them at short intervals

Pam.

Hi back at you, Pam.

I picked this email for the blog due to the first line. (The not seedy part.) I am a firm believer, that if you can get past the initial shock of the threesome, then you'll find an amazing love story in it's wake. I can't tell you how many emails that I get like this. I know that Deep Dark Mire scared quite a few people, but there has to be that emotional rollercoaster in a book to make it a good read. I truly believe that without that element, the books would just be another duplicate romance. I like to stand out and get your attention, and that catalyst did it.
Once past it, you find that the three are madly in love with each other. In theory, it shouldn't work, but again, love conquers all and bridges them together.
Moral of the story, if you read up to book 4, and then go to amazon for spoilers or to find out what happens, and then quit because of what you read there, YOU WILL shortchange yourself on an emotional read that is full of love.
Be open minded and don't judge the book by it's reviews.

Really.

As for the length of the series, I'm contemplating an end book. I would like to run it forever, but really, it needs more reviews that sing of it's praises and less of it's perceived flaws (the threesome). As of right now, I have up to book ten plotted out in my head. So, there will be at least that many more. You've got 1 more year of the Blackhawks to go, and then, it's up in the air. (If you want more books, leave some love on Amazon in the form of reviews. More positive reviews means the publisher will want more books put out and I'll keep writing.)

Okay, now to address the publication dates. As my team will attest, I have no books stockpiled. (The vampyre series I do have three more written, but they are shorter reads) It takes me 10 days to write a book if I do 16 hour days. Now, for the first in the Littlemoon series, I've only been writing 2 chapters a day. It will take me 20 days (approx.), but I am on vacation.  I write a book and then add more details, it then get's a first read through and heads off to be edited and proofed. While that is happening, I generally am working on another book. It's done in tandem to keep the books coming.

I began writing The Killing Times in July last year, it was released in September, and each book was written 2 months before release. In fact, I was working up until Christmas Even on True Love Lost.
I can't say there will be 6 FBI books next year, since I'm now balancing a few series. I just don't think I can pull off that kind of miracle. So, I'm looking at 2-3 FBI books next year, and 2-3 Croft books, and 2 Littlemoon ones. I also have a new series breaking in 2015 that may only be a trilogy, or it may be more. Again, it's FBI related, since that's my comfort zone.

Here's the projected schedule (it may change)

January - Blood Red Rage (book 1) Littlemoon series

February- Consumed by Wrath (book 8) FBI series

April- Love is Bleeding (book 4) Croft & Croft series

June- Lost & Broken (book 2) Littlemoon series

August - FBI Series, (book 9) title unknown

October- Croft & Croft series title unknown (book 5)

December- FBI Series (book 10) title unknown.

I hope this answered your question, Pam. (I also emailed you back!)

Only time for one more question today, and then I have to get my hiatus on! I will post more through this week when I can, and when I have internet access.

Morgan,
I love your books and I have to admit the threesome freaked me out a little, but after reading all the books, I admit that they were great. BUT, I love the Croft & Croft series more. Greyson is definitely an alpha male and yummy! Here's my inquiry. Why don't you describe your characters in more detail? Is it on purpose?
Thanks,
Megan.

Morning, Megan. I completely understand the freak out, and thank you for following through and trusting it! I'm pleased that you had the courage to read on!
I personally love Greyson too. I never divulge if I have a favorite series, but he's up there with my all time favorite characters.
Who doesn't love a strong, sexy man that takes care of his woman????

As to the character description. I don't overdo it, because in my mind, sexy may be one thing, and in your another. So, I allow you the reader to visualize the characters your way. That's why I don't put pictures of people on my books. My Elizabeth may be different from yours, and the same with Emma and now Tori.
I want you to use your imagination. I don't heavily bury the story in details. Tammy and I have had this discussion many times, where she wants to know more about a dress, or lingerie and I don't do it. I just think that my readers are able to picture in their minds a slinky green dress. I don't need to describe it too much.
So, I guess you can say it's on purpose and my style of writing.
PLUS, if I detailed everything to death, the books would be 800 pages! That's a whole lot of words!!!

Okay all, I'm off to get my run in, and then spend time with my kids. .
This is my vacation!
Yay!
I need coffee and some sun!

Have a great day and thank you for the emails and reviews on amazon! If you haven't left one for the series, please post one! I want all the people out there to get a different perspective on the books!

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Happy Sunday!

Morning all!

It's a fine day to be on hiatus!

Just to update you, Sacred Burial Grounds (book 2) in the FBI/Romance series is updated and uploaded. By tonight, you should see the new cover and new content. Inside, it should say THIRD EDITION and the cover has a skeleton in a burial ground in it.

Here it is:

If you don't have this edition, you can contact Amazon customer service and they will push it through to your kindles automatically. Just give them about five days. (Yes, it takes them that long to update a book...)

I didn't get any work done today, so nothing to report on there. I'm just going to kick back and relax the rest of the day. I think a BBQ may be in order. Like Elizabeth, cattle stampede from me too.

If it once mooed, then it is fair game...

I'm a little discombobulated. I'm not used to not getting up and not working. So, I actually got off my butt and logged some road miles running. Yay me!
Maybe that's why I'm feeling drained. My body is confused as to what the hell is going on....

Today, I may even do something I NEVER do.
I think I shall watch mindless tv for the rest of the day.
Thank God for streaming video on my Kindle Fire. How did we live without such things back in the 80's and 90's?????

Anyway, enjoy your day!
I have some questions and answers to post tomorrow.
So, come back and join me while I'm on vacation!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

Happy Weekend!

Just popping in with my morning coffee to see how you are all doing.

Vacation is great and yes I'm still working. Blood Red Rage (book 1) is just about complete. It'll be done around Wednesday. I'm not really rushing through it, it's just I get up WAY before anyone else and have to have something to do.

Why not read a book? Yeah, I ask myself that question all the time. I have plans on catching up on my reading later this week.
What's on my book shelf you ask?

A lot of Heather Graham.
Some JD ROBB
Nora Roberts

I like easy reads that pull me in and make me forget that I should be working :)

As soon as the weather clears, I'll post beach pictures. Today is the final day of rain, then the next ten are looking fantastic.

Happy Summer all!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Greetings and salutaions...

Just another day in paradise. Vacation is going well and work is still being done.
I just got the first 11 chapters back for the Sacred Burial Grounds re-edit. The new editor has found a lot more mistakes, but they're being corrected and ready for the new release.

It should be sometime this weekend, possibly on Monday morning.
So Yay!

Other than that, I didn't get much writing done today. It was a day filled with chaos.
Mental note.. Do not buy your kids a trampoline before vacation. It causes them to not go away.
It leads to pouting and crankiness.
Lesson learned.

Tomorrow or later tonight, when the temperatures drop a little, I'll head outside with the laptop to begin working. My plan is to finish chapter 16 in Blood Red Rage. I'm loving the way it's heading so far, and it actually is coming together quite easy.
I won't know how I did with it until I do my first read through, sometime in October. Until then, I have other things on my plate.

Right now, Celestia is Falling and Vegas is Dying are on the schedule for an edit with the new editor. Then she's going to start on Christmas is Killing. (Which had it's first read through done already.)
Devil Hath Come (book 7) is in its final read through. It will be ready to go by October 1st. (This is the much anticipated book where we find out if I kill Ethan or Callen... and is a turning point in the series.)

Can I just say, Holy crap! Where has this year gone????? Wasn't it just Christmas???????
Anyway, more books coming this year.
Keep up the reviews on Good Reads and Amazon! I appreciate them!

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Morning all!

Greetings from vacation land.

Ahhhhh, it's finally here. So, what am I doing on my vacation?
I'm up at two in the morning and working.

Why?
Apparently, I'm a few bricks short of a full load. I couldn't sleep, so I decided to not waste the time (that and it's wrong to wake two kids up at two a.m. to play a rousing game of candy land and monopoly.)
Instead, I opted to read my email. (always fun and bittersweet). So, here are a couple that I'll share with you...

Morgan,
I love your books, especially the FBI series. I can't get enough of Callen, Ethan and Elizabeth, but now I have a big problem. I'm done with the books and find myself pacing the house waiting for the next one.
What can I do?
~ Liberty.

Okay, well, you can email me at two in the morning and maybe we can play scrabble, or you can read the Croft & Croft books that are out. I promise that there's another coming, but not until October 1st. It seems like a long way off, but I swear it will be here soon enough. I'll be posting the synopsis in a couple of weeks.
I won't torture you all too long :)

Morgan,
I read that you're starting a new series. Can you drop the deets?
Harper.

By deets, I hope you mean details, or I'm going to look old and so out of it....
I am starting a new series, and if you read a few blog entries back, you'll find out more. I'm spinning off Julian and Tori Littlemoon into their own private investigator series.
In fact, I'm halfway done with the book. It should be finished by the end of this month. (Again, while I'm on vacation... Yeah, I know.)
So, to keep you apprised, I'll have the FBI/Romance series, The Croft & Croft adventure series, The Littlemoon Investigation series and The 'Blood' series.
Yes, all going at one time.
I'm crazy like that.

Morgan,
I just found out that you write under M. Kelley, is that true? What books do you have coming out under that pen name?
Melissa

I do write under M. Kelley. My paranormal books are under that penname. I don't promote it, because the publisher that did my first book in 2009 for that series still owns the rights. Once I retain them back again and Black Cauldron Publishing gets them, that book will be out on kindle. (2016) It's a way off yet, but books 2-4 are on kindle right now. The plans are in the works to rerelease,  reedited and get them new covers.

I also have a trilogy in the works for another paranormal series. That first book is just about done and will headline the release, probably next year....

Morgan,
I love your blog. Like your writing, it's full of humor. You must be funny. Do you post all the questions that you get asked in email or do you pick and choose?
Irene

Thank you! As to the funny part, that's debatable. My friends think I'm funny. My son (4 years old) thinks I am, but my husband and preteen daughter don't... Go figure. As for the emails, I do post MOST of them. If someone sends me hate mail (yeah, I get it believe it or not) then I don't post them. I refuse to give people that are mean and cruel any attention.
I also don't post my prison love letters. They're too sexually explicit... (Me attempting humor. Again, husband not laughing.)

Thank you all for the questions, I'll keep answering them while I'm getting some sun on the beach. (if it stops raining...)

Back to work, er... I mean vacation.

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

You can please some of the people.....

Wow, today was a wild day in reviews.
As usual, Deep Dark Mire took a beating.
Why?
The threesome.

I'm to the point that I don't even want to look anymore at reviews. How do I, the writer, explain it any more clearer to people that are freaked out by a threesome?
It's fiction.
It's not real.
I created a world to make you think.
It's something you might not experience in life.
That's the point. I want you to relax, pick up a book and take a break from reality. I know the FBI procedures aren't 100 % accurate. I am well aware that two married people wouldn't be running the FBI. It's a made up world, with one point in mind.
Entertainment.

In the past two months, I've been called 'Immoral', and my books are incestuous. FALSE AND FALSE!  Or my favorite, 'I loved books 1-3 but after reading the reviews for 4- I don't like the direction because you can't love brothers at the same time.'
STOP judging a book by it's cover. STOP reading the reviews that are only bad and read the good ones too. Read it and decide for yourself!

I don't know why I'm surprised. I knew this would happen, since I was pushing something so far out of the comfort zone, but I really didn't think people would be this offended.
It's not real.
I'm not a happy home wrecker, and I didn't destroy Desdemona's life.
She doesn't exist anywhere but in my mind and on paper.

I appreciate people's opinions, but it's frustrating as the creator to watch 'my baby' get the shit kicked out of it because Callen's whiny and the threesome in the books.
Is that all you see when you read 190,000 words? Nothing more?
Well, here you go.
YES I KNOW HE IS WHINY!
I created him to be that way.
Why?
You find out in Devil Hath Come. Life is about to change for Elizabeth, Callen and Ethan. Something is coming that will shake them up and possibly the readers too. The weak become the strong and the strong are damaged. It all has a point. It's a matter of just continuing forward, even if you find something in the book you disagree with.

These books are a long term series, so they span YEARS of time. I can't make Callen whiny at the beginning of one book and solve it by the end. They'd be 5000 pages long. All I'm asking is a little patience and the leeway to tell the tale as it lives in my mind.
That's all....

I guess I need to accept the reality of it all.

Sometimes, REALITY sucks.

Much Love, Incestuous Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

PS. I'm kidding about the incestuous Mayhem part..
Really.

Blood Red Rage Cover reveal.

Hello all!
Happy Monday Mourning... (yeah, it's that kind of day!)
I hope that you had a great weekend and got in lots of reading!
I was busy, busy, busy!
As I'm prepping for my hiatus, I've realized that when you're in crunch mode, everything that can go wrong, will go wrong...
Alas, packing for two kids for a month away is pretty much like torture!

I did get a good deal of writing done this last week. Blood Red Rage (book 1) in the Littlemoon investigation series is more than 1/3 of the way done. It's moving quickly now, as I weave in the 'whodunit' and vamp up a few sex scenes. I had been anxious about writing this book, because I'm losing the FBI team to fall back on when I find I need comic relief in the book.

When I'm writing about Lyzee or Emma, I can always go to a fun character to lighten the drama or mood, but with Blood Red Rage, I'm starting at the beginning all over again. So, no Doctor Leonard and his body parts, no Tony Magnus and his 'show and tell'.

It's been a challenge, but I have to say, I'm loving it. I haven't written the synopsis yet, but I can give you an idea of what it's going to be about. This is the first book in the Tori and Julian series, and we are watching them as they build their new business. As private investigators, they've found that business is picking up and requires a great deal of their time. It needs to, since they have four other employees that rely on them. (I think you'll recognize most of them from the FBI/Romance series)

Littlemoon Investigations has been hired to find a missing woman. Only, things are nothing like they thought them to originally be. Plus, I've introduced Detective Vivian Graves. She works finding the lost, and she has one hell of a secret and a new found appreciation for the Native form. (Justin Littlemoon- Julian's brother, gets a girl!)

As they race to find the missing woman, they are trapped in the madness of a serial abductor, who just can't stop at one collected prize.

I've taken this series a different route.
(For those of you worried that I'll be dropping a threesome in this book with Justin, Julian and Tori, fear not- It's not happening. In book one, Justin gets the love of his life and Tori and Julian are as happy as ever)
Often, I get emails telling me I should throw some psychic mojo into the books, and I've opted to do just that. I can't tell you where or how, so you'll have to wait until January :)
Sorry...

Why ruin the fun before you get to read it?
But I will show you the cover because I love you all so much!
It was my inspiration for this book.

I'm not sure how big this book is going to be. I'd love to write a mega novel like the FBI Series or Croft & Croft, but I'm not sure how big it's going to end up. Like I always say, these novels write themselves. I'm just the vessel from which it flows. If I were to guess, I'd say it's going to be around 400 pages.

Anyway, back to packing and work. I'll be posting all through vacation from the sandy beaches of Myrtle, so, if you see a tattooed woman sitting on the beach with a blood red laptop... chances are it's me.
Stop and say hi!

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

PS. Sacred Burial Grounds is now 1/4 of the way edited and should be done sometime next week. Look for the brand new cover.

I know i'm supposed to be on vacation...

but I had a few hours of down time. (I know... when????) So, I began writing the first book in the Julian and Tori series.

Blood Red Rage (book 1) is now in production. I have a few days before I leave for the beach, so i'm going to get as much done as I can before I go. So, if all things go well, we're looking at the first book out for the new year!
YAY!
For a while I was worried if I was going to be able to get the work done, with the new FBI and Croft & Croft books slotted, but I figured out a way to squish it into the schedule!
Can anyone say compulsive work-aholic?
Yeah, that would be me.

SO, anyway...
I will keep you updated, but as of now, It's on it's merry way to creation!
This series won't have as much killing in it, it will be more focused on other crimes, since it's not an FBI thriller.

I hope you all love it! I'm giving Kane Redwolf (From Darkness of Truth) and Christina Hart (From the FBI series) their story.
BUT WAIT! How am I doing that?
Well, I guess you'll have to read Devil Hath Come (book 7) that comes out on October 1st to find the answer to that one....

Happy last few weeks of summer!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Devil Hath Come...

I'm happy to report that I managed to get everything done with Devil Hath Come before I leave for vacation. It's been edited and proofed thoroughly and going for it's read through to find any little mistakes.
I've revamped the process to cut down on missing errors in the books before they become released, so I'm hoping that this makes the entire thing less difficult and time consuming. We've added another proofreader to the process to put another set of eyes on the book. Team Morgan Kelley is slowly growing!
Let's hope it works!

I got some great emails the last two days. Thank you all for sending them to me!

Here's a few;

Morgan,
I've been reading your books. I have just finished reading Fire Burns Hot. I really enjoy the books wasn't sure about the threesome between Ethan, Elizabeth and Callen. I love reading about them. Also Julian and Tori. I hope the woman M.E. doesn't come back and ruin things.
Coleen

Oh, don't you worry, Coleen. I took care of Desdemona.... Julian and Tori will have their own series next year. I promise...

 Ms. Kelley,
When are the next books coming out? I'm addicted! I love Greyson. I may want to marry his brother myself!
Jessica

Jessica, Devil Hath Come (Book 7) will be released on October 1st.
I was going to release it on October 15th, but I want a full month before Halloween.
Next will be Christmas is Killing (book 3) in the Croft & Croft series. It's going to be released on or around November 1st.
Once that one is out, I'll begin writing Consumed by Wrath (book 8) of the FBI/Romance series and Love is Bleeding (book 4) of the Croft & Croft series. I may also toss in a Julian and Tori book too. It depends on my schedule and the holidays.

Last year, I worked through Christmas. In fact, I was just finishing True Love Lost on Christmas Eve, right before I was walking out the door to see family.
I won't be doing that this year. I'm taking the week before Christmas and after off to just be a mom.

Morgan,
What upsets you most when you get a negative review? I saw some pretty mean ones out there.
I think people are taking it way too serious.
Betty

The threesome slamming doesn't really bother me. I'm okay with people not wanting to read books that make them uncomfortable. I think what upsets me about that is when they tell me I 'ruined Elizabeth and Ethan' for them. No, they ruined it for themselves by taking it too serious. This is fiction, and the characters don't really exist. So, how can I ruin their lives? I give everyone fair warning that the FBI/Romance series is going to have a threesome in it. Each book is tagged appropriately, so if people are clueless and don't read the book description, well, that's on them. Not me.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.
My job is to make the reader have fun, think and live in a fantasy for a short period of time. If I bend the rules every once and a while when it comes to FBI procedures, well, I can. It's fiction. FBI West doesn't really exist.
I write fiction, not true crime...

I guess what really bothers me is the editing comments, because no matter how many times a team goes through it, there's going to be mistakes. I've read Nora Roberts books with errors in it. (Specifically JD ROBB books.) and she goes through a MAJOR publisher.
I would love to pay someone thousands of dollars to edit my books to perfection, but then I have to charge 14.99 a book. Who is that going to hurt?
The Reader.
There are always going to be critics, and if the missing comma or the misused word bothers you, then close the book and find a new author. (Yes, that sounds bitchy, but like Lyzee, I call it how I see it.) We're all trying our best, and I put out 10 books since last September, at 500 pages and 180,000 words each. That's 5000 pages and 1.8 million words. Most authors put out 3 max a year and they are 300 page books.
I love to make everyone happy, but that's not always possible.
For now, we're working on cleaning up the books that are out and making sure that the new ones are as close to perfect as we can get them.

Okay, back to work. I have a million things to do before hiatus begins! It's almost beach time!

YAY!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Fire Burns Hot...

Hi all!

Just popping in to let you know that Fire Burns Hot (book 5) is getting ready to re-release with a new cover and edit sometime this weekend.
If you previously have the cover with the fire and hearts, please contact Amazon customer service NEXT weekend to get a manual push through with the new story.
The plot is the same, but the editing is cleaned up and ready to go!
(for paperbacks, the new edition won't be ready until this week some time)

I apologize for the copious amount of errors in that first edition. All the 'he' and 'she's have been fixed, along with the missing words and spelling issues. I can assure you that it won't happen again, and from here on out, the books will be released with new editing practices!

Also, the other books are now going through the editing process line by line to fix all the mistakes.

Make sure you get your new edition with a great new cover and cleaner content!!!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Vegas...

I hope you're all enjoying Vegas is Dying! I had some awesome feedback via email! I can't wait for you all to finish the book and read the follow up book Christmas is Killing!
I thought I would post a few of your comments or questions here;

Morgan,
I just finished Celestia is Falling and I am in LOVE! Greyson Croft is HOT! I love how you made
him so very strong and crazy about Emma.  I already bought Vegas is Dying and I stayed up late last night reading. I liked your FBI series, but I love the Croft & Croft series. Thank you for bringing Curtis back! He's funny!
Keep writing! I love your humor and your books!
Susan

Susan, I love Curtis too! He makes me chuckle. I love that he's Greyson's surrogate little brother. I will tell you that Dante is going to be in book 4, so Greyson will have two 'brother's' to look out for...

Morgan,
I just finished Vegas is Dying and I don't think I can wait until Christmas time. Can you please give us a few hints what you have coming? I Love that you are trying to have someone make Greyson Croft dirty. (Although, we know that won't ever happen!) Him and Emma are perfect together. Don't change a thing!
Barbara

Barbara, here's a hint: Nothing is going to be what it appears to be. Greyson and Emma will have an unlikely ally and a more sinister enemy that is willing to spill blood...

Morgan,
I read your FBI Series, and while I enjoyed it, I have to say that I love your Croft & Croft series even more! It's refreshing! There is something so sensual about Greyson Croft and how possessive he is of his 'woman'. I love it! I was torn at the end when Emma called Mr. Mason by his first name. I have a feeling he's going to be a problem in the next book!
Can you release it early? I think tomorrow is a perfect date!
Please keep doing what you do!
Amy

Amy, I wrote this series to alleviate some of the 'freakout' from the other series. Not everyone likes the threesome sex. It was a perfect storm to create that series and it WILL NOT be happening ever again. While I love Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen, they have their story and i'm not going to replicate it. It will cheapen it if I have threesome after threesome with every set of characters. I did it once and that's great. Now, I plan on giving the other readers what they wanted. A straight romance with interesting characters that begin flawed and have to work through it to find resolution.
HINT: Randall Mason will have a deep impact in the next two books...

Morgan,
I love you. Let me just say that off the top. Want to be my best friend? If you were, then you could tell me what's happening in the next book. I know, I'm just using you to find out where you're taking the book after Vegas is Dying, but I reaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyy need to know! I don't think I can wait until Christmas.
Can you tell us anything? Oh, and if you need anyone to brainstorm with, I will volunteer my services!
Toni

Toni, You're better off not being my best friend. I don't play well with others! HAHAHAHA I will tell you what's happening in the next book. It's Christmas, someone is trying to break Greyson and we all know there is ONLY one way to do that. Now, think about it....  I can promise by the end of the book, you will be writing me another email dying to know what the hell I was thinking! (no worries people, I don't mean as in sex. I put a twist in the plot regarding the dirty dealings of Vegas)
As for brainstorming, I've decided that I'm no longer telling anyone where I'm taking the books. I plan on going with my gut and just doing it! I think that makes it more impactful.

As usual, I love your emails. They make me laugh! I can't tell you too much about the next book, because that would ruin it for you. I will tell you that it will be out in November. I am aiming for Nov, 1st. It has already had a first read through and had two people beta read it, just to make sure there aren't any holes in it. That being said, it's going forward and will be out before you know it.
I will tell you this, it's the catalyst for the game changer. I LOVE a twist that no one sees coming, so prepare yourself for the first chapter and the last one to catch you off guard.

In Christmas is Killing, Emma and Greyson are closer to finding out who is the big 'corruptor' in Vegas. They want Greyson to be well aware who is 'King' of the strip. They're ready to play hardball and Emma and Grey have no choice but to play along. There will be allies made and enemies watching their every move. It's going to set up the follow up book for 2014, Love is Bleeding (book 4) HINT: The title may or may not be a clue as to what's ahead...

Just sayin'

Okay, I have to get back to work. Devil Hath Come is just about there and I want to wrap it up and head to the beach. I may be posting pictures of Morgan's month-long adventure.

As always, keep emailing and don't forget to leave a review on Amazon and Good Reads!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Something that I don't always do...

Rarely, do I promote other writers on my blog, only because I don't want to backlash if someone disagrees with their work, but today I'm breaking that rule.

My author friend, KC Cavanaugh, is going to be giving away Eternal Beginnings on Amazon on 8/9 for free. It's a cute little pre-story for the books she has coming out. I've read it and enjoyed it, so for anyone that comes here and reads my blog that enjoys YA and paranormal, check it out.
We all love something that's free!

You can find it here on Amazon.
or pop on over to her blog and check out her other works. You can also find her on Facebook.

Back to work I go!

Much love, mayhem and murder,

Morgan.

And the countdown begins...

Hi all!
Just dropping in to update you on what's going on in my little world.

I'm wrapping up the final read through for Devil Hath Come (book 7). I'm about 270 pages in and that's the halfway point. It's going to be edited and then shipped off to proofing.

I'm also going to start the corrections on Christmas is Killing (book 3).

I'm in the home stretch for the year. I leave for Myrtle beach in three weeks, I'll be down there for about a month, so if anyone has any fun things that I NEED to see, drop me a comment or email.

When I return, I'll be starting up on the next two books that will be coming out in the beginning of the year. The next one in the FBI/Romance series is going to be entitled Consumed by Wrath (book 8). I'm aiming for around Valentines day or the end of Feb.
This book is going to deal with the fall out of Devil Hath Come. We're going to see how Elizabeth's life changes after the last book.
(I can't tell you more. Sorry. I don't want to start an uprising before the next book is even out!) I know there have been quite a few emails wondering if I'm going to kill Callen or Ethan off, and that's addressed in Devil Hath Come.
So, the Valentines day book will be dealing with the fall out of what has happened in their lives.

After that, I will be writing the next Croft & Croft book. Love is Bleeding (book 4). I'm going to mess with the lives of all the people in this one. It's going to either show us that love is stronger than anything in the world, or ultimately our downfall. AGAIN, for those of you that were freaked out by the threesome, I promise nothing that drastic in this series. I plan on pushing it a little, but no fears, Emma and Greyson are each other's one true love and that's not going to be played around with in this series. There will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever be a threesome in their future.
Soul mates and one and only one true love.

Cross my heart....

Also on the agenda for next year is the release of the Julian and Tori Littlemoon spin off series.
I also have another series in the works. It may only be a three book trilogy, but i'll know more by the summer.

Again, this ends my year, so thank you for a great run.

Here's my promise for next year.
I swear I will make you think.
I vow to make you feel.
and I will try to keep you entertained!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Long live the Queen and King of Vegas...

Vegas is Dying (book 2) in the Croft & Croft Adventure series has released.

It will be live in a few hours!  If you haven't read the first book in the series, here's the link.

Celestia is Falling (book 1)

I'll post the link for book two in the morning when I see it on Amazon!

Have a great night!

Morgan.

New favorite email of all time!!!!!

I know I post quite a few questions here, but I had to show you all this one. I LOVE when I get interaction with the readers. It's fun to see how you all view the characters in the books.
I often wonder if anyone sees them the way I did when I created them, of if it's just my vision of them.
Well, I've gotten good emails, bad ones, and one from all over the world. This week I received one from Johannesburg, South Africa. I love that my books have traveled the world.

NOW... If they'd just take me with them!

But NEVER have I received one that made me laugh this hard! I absolutely loved it. As you can imagine, every time I get an email, I get that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Will it be good? Or will I be getting slammed? Getting feedback is like everyone else's job in life. Its akin to your boss walking in to you and telling you how you've done.
Great Job!
Ehhhh didn't like the characters hooking up.
You're immoral and you're peddling incest. (YES, believe it or not, that was comments from two individuals that hated the Callen and Elizabeth union)
Anyway, I'm accustomed to being slammed pretty hard for books 4-6 of the series. After a while, you just let it go. (Unless there's name calling... That doesn't go over well) But when I logged into my Goodreads account I found this:

subject:Blackhawk FBI series Craziness lol
message:Hello Ms. Kelley-

I have started reading your series here the past few days and I like many others really got into it until the Callen/ Adare romance. I was so upset how this character (DR. Adare)was treated and just kept yelling and cussing at my Kindle and trying to figure out why you as a writer thought it was warranted to write a story like that. I mean I know it is fiction and all but just for shits and giggles what made you go there like you did? I can see the threesome thing working to a point. I just want to know why you felt the need to totally destroy a character like that? lol I think the only next best thing would be for Ethan to fall for someone else and leave or possibly open the circle to another female. AS crazy as it sounds and you are probably tongue lashing me right now; it just seems that Elizabeth needs to get her just karma for the way she basically lured Callen away from having his own great love like her and Ethan. I really feel Callen needs to have his own family that he created on his own. Also when is the Dr. Adare gonna come back into it? lol I can't wait for that!!!!! I am loving the series but just felt really compelled to write you. I just can't get to sleep tonight thinking about this. It is just so far out in left field and unbelievable how this can coexist in the FBI world....lol I know I know it's fiction but it's just too hard to grasp for me and I am sure for many others when you are reading about FBI cases granted it's just a story it's just hard....lol

Keep up the great work and if it has to be so unbelievable please keep bringing on the chaos!!!!! Elizabeth needs to be brought down a few pegs!!!! lol ... please

I love how full of fire she is! What many people don't realize is that my job is to make you think and feel. I obviously did just that with this person, and I'm glad. I could easily write the same old book over and over again, and call it fun, but is it? Is it worth your time if I don't make you question it or think about it?

Yes, some books are meant to be easy reads, but mine aren't. I want you to think, analyze and dwell  on it. I want you to get mad, feel love and weep along with them. Will you always love my characters? Hell no! But will you think about it?
YES! That's why I'm here. I don't do this for the money. If I did, I'd write the same old diluted crap over and over again, charge you more money and call it a day. I am trying to make you think and wonder 'what if' and that's my goal.
With the FBI series, it's the threesome.
With Croft and Croft, it's how dominant and bossy Greyson is and how much can Emma take before even she snaps.

Which brings me to one more thing. Tammy just told me yesterday that my Christmas book may offend some people. Specifically Christians. Here's the deal. It wasn't my intent. One of the suspects in the book is a minister who loves God very much. He's going to have a powerful reaction, as are the other main characters. I'm not making a political or religious statement.
In fact, I was raised in a very strict Christian home, my family goes to church every Sunday etc. Am I Christian?
No.
Do I have a history of it in my personal life.
Yes.
So, if you find Emma and Greyson being a little snotty or anti-religion, please don't think that it's me. Normally, I wouldn't even bring this up, but since being called immoral and incestuous because of the threesome, I figured I'd address it now...

Here's me being PC. Someone write it down, it's not going to happen again for a LONG time!

Okay, I'm going off to fine tune Devil Hath Come (book 7) There's lots of work and currently Tammy isn't feeling well and having surgery, so, I shall be busy!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan

Taaaaaa Daaaaaa!

After pulling a late night, I'm happy to say that Vegas Is Dying is off to be approved and uploaded.
What that means is that it should be available on Amazon within the next twelve hours or by tomorrow morning!

I can't believe I got it out on deadline. It seemed like I had been hit with every roadblock imaginable! Honestly, I've never been more stressed in my life!

I'm making sure that doesn't happen with Devil Hath Come (Book 7)

I start working on that tomorrow morning. It's going to be edited and read through before I leave for hiatus, and I have 19 days to get it proof worthy. The release date for that book is slotted for October 15th, and I'm going to make that deadline whether it kills me or not.
I can't put a Halloween book out after the holiday! So alas, I shall be working while I'm in Myrtle. I was hoping to take four weeks off, but it's just not going to be feasible. I have too much to handle. By January first I need to have two more books written and ready to go into editing, and that's going to start in October.
Busy.
Busy.
Busy.

Thank you all for your emails and questions. I'm sorry that I haven't had time to post them, but I will get them up as soon as I can! I also have a funny email from someone on Goodreads that I'll be posting here! Kara messaged me and it nearly made me pee my pants, so I have to post it on my blog!

I hope you all have a good day and as soon as Amazon has the links to Vegas is Dying up, I'll post them below in an update!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan.

Vegas is Dying release

Hi all!

Vegas is Dying (book 2) is on track for release either next weekend or the following week. I still have a few corrections to make in it before it gets one more approval read through.
Depending on my schedule, it should be okayed by the publisher and on it's merry way shortly!
YAY!
I really hope you love it!

Here's the cover:

Here's the book description:

Book two in the Croft & Croft Romance Adventure series:

Vegas is 'Sin City'.
It's a place to risk it all and find your fortune.
It's now the home of Detective Emma Croft and her FBI Director husband Greyson Croft. They spun the wheel of fortune and decided to make it their home.
Emma's dealt with death before, but she's now run into a killer with a twisted sense of justice.
Someone's taking out showgirls, mutilating them and leaving vague clues behind. It all points to the biggest show producer in the city and a shameful secret he may carry.
But why? What does it have to do with a man that started here when Vegas was glamour and gangsters?
Behind it all, there’s something sinister brewing that’s threatening their new careers and lives. Is it connected? Or have they already made powerfully enemies, ready to purge Vegas of law and order?
The deaths keep coming as the FBI and LVPD team up to find the truth.
Can Emma and Greyson Croft build their lives when a killer is trying to make sure that VEGAS IS DYING?
Or are they the prey next on the list?

I'll update you all when it's released!

Back to work!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Hello all!

Been locked in my office and chained to my desk.
I've been putting in the long days to get the books taken care of before I head out on hiatus.

Good News: Vegas is Dying arrives tomorrow for my final approval. If it looks good, it'll be out on August 1st.
Yay.

Bad News: there is none ! Sorry, I was just messing with you!  I will say that all the books are getting updated and redone, and that means new covers and details inside. So, once you see the new covers on Amazon, contact them to get the updated version. They will push through an update for you free of charge if you let them know you need the updated book.
(Keep in mind, it takes up to 5 days for the covers to sometimes update, so give it a week!)

I figured I would post the new covers.

The Killing Times (Book One) has been redone and here is it's cover. Keep in mind I also added some details to this book in the process. There's been lines, dialog and information added to make the book longer. I believe it was 389 pages and now it's more like 411.

Here is the new one for Sacred Burial Grounds ( Book Two) . It won't be re-released for a little while yet. Sometime the end of summer to be exact. It should be done in September.

Here is True Love Lost (Book Three)
I picked this cover to remind everyone of the moment when the killer was in the cellar placing the jars of body parts on the shelves. I opted to leave the grossness out and leave that to your imagination!

I also have Fire Burns Hot (Book Five) being reworked as we speak. It will be redone and released within the next couple of weeks. Around the middle of August before I leave. Here is the cover. It should remind you of the one scene behind the strip club, just minus the burning dancer....

Deep Dark Mire (Book Four) is also slotted for a new cover and editing. It should be done by the end of August or the middle of September. The cover isn't quite done yet, so I'll keep that one and Darkness of Truth (Book Six) a secret for now.
I'll give you something to look forward to later in the year.

Now for the next news. Devil Hath Come (Book Seven) has just been finished. All the details are added and next week I'm starting the first read through. It will be heading over to Tammy when I head out around the 20th of August.

I really hope you all love that book. (Well, all the people that don't want me dead for destroying Elizabeth and Ethan's lives! LOL) It's funny, it's sweet and it's very emotional. I have to admit I wept.
We're going to start learning about Dr. Christopher Leonard and Cyra Austin. They're about to begin their relationship. There will be bumps and potholes in that road, and a few surprises lurking around the corner too. I hope you fall in love with them as much as I have!

As for the Croft & Croft Series- Christmas is Killing (Book Three) is already out for proofing and will be done early. It's going to be released around the beginning of November, just in time for the Christmas holiday. I LOVE IT.

If my FBI/Romance series freaked you out (The threesome issue...) Then fear not! Croft and Croft is a straight romance. It has the same crime and mystery aspects as the FBI one, but none of the threesome and it's got more of a gangster and old school Vegas twist! If you've ever wondered what someone from 1950's Vegas would be like now in this day and age, Emma and Greyson Croft will be the ones for you.

Well... That's all folks! This writing year is coming to an end. I do have some peeps that I want to thank. First off, Tammy for putting up with my bossiness and other Type A Elizabeth-esque issues. She's worked very hard this year to get through all these books. Imagine reading 1.5 million words in one year. (or 9 of my books) then picture doing it 2 or 3 times. The woman is a trooper.
So props to her!
She also lets me bounce ideas off her. (Like should I make them a threesome?? Is this too gross?) She also talks me down off the bad reviews. (IE; You're books are Immoral. You ruined this series with Callen, and Don't quit your day job...) okay no one's said that one yet, and I'd like to point out this IS MY DAY JOB....

Eternal Connections has been helping me out too. All the amazing covers have been done by them. I love each and every one and am super appreciative. Thank you so much for reading the books and helping me find just the right creation.

Thank you to Black Cauldron Publishing for doing the re-edits on the books for me and believing in an unknown writer that wanted to do something no one else had done before- blending crime with a threesome twist. I appreciate you helping me get to Amazon's top 100 authors.

AND last but not least... All the readers! I love you all and am glad I could spend this year entertaining you. I promise next year will be just as awesome (I run September to September- I haven't been drinking) I have plans ahead for everyone. There's some death on the horizon for some of my characters (I'll answer the big question of if I killed Callen or Ethan off in Devil Hath Come or if there's more necks on the chopping block *wink wink*)
There's some bribery and people going to lose their jobs...
People are leaving the series
There's more sex.
More Love.
and more fun!

Thank you! Thank You! Thank YOU!!!!!!!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

New cover for The Killing Times .

Hi all!

The third edition of The Killing Times is about to hit tomorrow sometime, and I thought I would give you all a preview of the new cover.
It's being taken another route, just because there are issues out there with people not knowing they have the newest edition book. Since the original and second edition are both blue and have the blackbirds, we have individuals not aware that there is an updated version and they are leaving reviews based on the original book.
So, we're going off the beaten path.
Kinda....

Here it is.

I haven't seen the paperback cover yet, but it won't be exactly the same. When I saw this, it reminded me of the end scene in the barn. I needed it to be very different so people could differentiate.
Again, as of tomorrow, if your kindle has a different cover for book one, if you contact amazon (assuming you purchased book 1) they will push through the newly updated version.

I will tell you all this, it's longer than the last edition, because I did add a few things here and there.
Just a little heads up.

Hope you all have a really great day!

Back to work!

Much love, Mayhem and murder,
Morgan.

Morning all! Updates and the normal BS.

It's been a chaotic week here!

Vegas is Dying and Christmas is Killing are done. I've passed them off to be proofed, and I can now settle in to work on Devil Hath Come.

I'll be tied up with that the next few weeks.
I need to get Ethan, Elizabeth and Callen cleaned up before editing. I still have some details to add and then off she goes.
I'll be answering the question that I keep getting in emails. "Is she killing Callen or Ethan?"

In fact, I received an email today, and since it's started a firestorm on Amazon, I'll address it.

Morgan,
I just saw on amazon that your books contain incest. Is that true?
Lori

Lori, I am appalled that that reader even stated that, especially since she stopped reading at book 3 and didn't get to a single threesome. I knew when I wrote this series, I would get some flak, but I didn't think anyone would call it incest. I clearly do not have any contact during sex between Callen and Ethan. They don't engage in intercourse unless Elizabeth is there. I think that the woman that is all stirred up needs a dictionary and a review of what the word actually means.

In order for it to be incest,  the brothers would have to have contact in a sexual nature and I don't go there. It's taboo, and too far over the line for me to cross. They are simply two men that love Elizabeth with all their hearts and happen to be half brothers.

The woman never even read the threesome scenes, so how she can call them inscestuous is beyond me. I think she saw threesome and got her panties in a bunch. Which is fine, since my books aren't for everyone, but they ARE NOT INCEST. She also claims that I stole her money and tricked her.
Again, I tag the threesome books as containing them, I left a letter in the book description for The Killing Times that stated it wasn't going to be cookie cutter and can someone have more than one true love.
She stated she became suspicious. Well, yeah. THAT was my plan. I wanted the reader to see it coming in book 2 and ultimately 3. It's not my fault that she stopped at book three in a panic, and also that she bought the books without doing the research. You don't buy a car without checking it out, or shop for a doctor. All she needed to do was read the book descriptions. I know when I buy a series, I buy one  book at a time.
Now, she claims I wasted her time, well, now she's wasting mine. I've had to reply to her ridiculous claims on amazon and now give it time here.

On a good note, I had fallen off amazon's top 100, and now I'm back. I'm sure there are people out there that see the train wreck review and now have to see what's going on with the books.
People are curious by nature.
So, Reviewer that called my books 'inscestuous threesomes'
Thank you, You actually helped spread Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen through the world.

People are going to be offended by my books, and I stand on the premise that my job is to make you think and feel. It's not always going to be to my benefit. She said she liked the books until that part, well then she indeed received her money's worth- after all, she read them. (and I had a few returns, so she most likely got her money back)

Back to work!
I'm now four hours behind since I had to deal with insanity.

Much love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Another day...

Hi all.

Just have a few moments to spare today.
It's been a crazy hectic week for me. I'm in a crunch to get all my work done before vacation next month, and I feel like I need five or six more hours in a day.
Vegas is Dying (book 2) is off for it's final read-through this week.
Christmas is Killing (book 3) is heading in for its first proofing.
Then there's Devil Hath Come (book 7)- I've yet to add the details and get it cleaned up for the first full read through. I have about one month worth of work to put into it, and only 5 weeks until I head south...
It's going to be close.
I also had an interview with our local paper this week, some family issues to handle and just about everything else that could pop up.

But, I think it's all under control.
Maybe.

This was a tumultuous week in reviews. As Elizabeth would say, I've been handed my ass on any given day. Critiquing my style of writing to a few incredibly rude people that have made personal attacks and name calling.
Yikes! Who knew that people could be so rude.. Oh, wait. I did know that....

Anyway, despite being called a horrible writer that puts no effort into her books (Yes, Horsemom, you get the spotlight on my blog for that one... and Barbara that called my books immoral due to a threesome... I shall brush it off and go back to work. For every person that's rude, there are twenty that are awesome. I get some fabulous emails and love hearing from everyone.
So thank you, for your support.

I'm still ranked on Amazon's top 100 authors, I believe for 4 weeks now, so thank you for that too!

Everyone have a great week!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,

Morgan.

Clean up and re-edit.

Hi all!

Just popping in to tell you all that all of the FBI/Romance series is going back in for an edit and reproofing. There were some conversion issues, and grammatical issues that needed to be taken care of before I leave for hiatus.

Vegas is Dying (Book 2) is on schedule for a release at the end of July. So far we look to be on track, but as we get closer to the date, I'll let you know.

Christmas is Killing (Book 3) is heading off to Tammy next week to get it's first read through. It won't be released until the day after Thanksgiving, so hang in there.

Devil Hath Come (Book 7) is going to be detailed in 2 weeks, and should be ready for proofing by August 20th. It's slotted for an October 1st release.

Thank you all for contacting me this week and asking all your great questions! I will try and get back to each email as quickly as possible! Also the feedback is welcome and helps me make the books more enjoyable for everyone.

I did have some great questions that I'm going to address here.

Morgan,
When you get a bad review, how do you deal with it?
Charleen

I try to remember that everyone isn't always going to like my books. If it's related to something that is grammatical, I never get mad. Much like many things in life, I'm a work in progress and there is always room to learn. I don't have the luxury of a giant publishing house behind me, so the small team that does my editing and proofing works very hard.
People make mistakes, and it's a part of life.
When I get an email that tells me that there is grammatical issues, I work very hard to fix them or have someone on the team do it. I strive to put out every book perfectly, but things happen. Sometimes it's out of my control, like with kindle formatting. It can come across all messed up, or certain words don't translate correctly. I just fix it and move on.
NOW- when it comes to criticism on a direction I took the characters or story, that I don't take well. Since it's my story to tell, I really have final say. Will everyone like Ethan, Callen and Elizabeth having a sexual relationship? No. Does that make me wish I never went there? No. I love my characters and want them to come across how I saw them in my head. When they get trashed, it wounds, but I keep moving forward.
It is what it is...

Morgan,
Do you have a career outside writing?
Betty

Other than being a wife and mother, no. I work full time at home as a writer. This is my profession. There are days I'm glad that I'm home all day, and others not so much...

Thank you all for your emails and correspondence. I appreciate each and every one of you!

Much Love, Mayhem and Murder,
Morgan.

PS. I was just interviewed today for our local paper. I can't wait to ship it off to my parents on July 30th when it comes out. And my father thought killing wasn't lucrative...

Poor Deep Dark Mire...

My fourth book in the series is taking a beating.
Why?
The threesome.
Because I dared to step outside the box and give Elizabeth two men in her life, it's getting the crap kicked out of it. I get when people don't like threesomes, but it's fiction people. Take it with a grain of salt.
I don't personally see the issue. It's not cheap tawdry sex where I make the relationship crass or vile. It's about love between three people.
I also warned everyone. So, did they think I was kidding that there was going to be a threesome in book 4?

It's all so mind boggling, and I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but it does. I hate to see people say they can't read further, because I ruined the relationship.
NO. I've changed it. The relationship is still there between Ethan and Elizabeth, it's just stronger and shows that we can love more than one person in life.
When you read J.R.R Tolkien and he killed off characters in the book, did you stop reading? Or did you continue on and see what he had planned?
Fiction is just that. MADE UP works of literature meant to entertain you and make you live a fantasy you normally might not experience.

I don't plan on making excuses for my books. If you want a twosome, Emma and Greyson fit the bill, and so will Tori and Julian. If you want something outside the realm of same old romance, Elizabeth, Ethan and Callen are your heroes and heroines.

Maybe we should think back to what our mother's told us growing up. You should keep an open mind before being too judgmental.

For all you that love my novels, thank you for being supportive and trusting me to tell you a story that you'll enjoy. For those of you that freak out and quit...

You have no idea the fun you're missing.

Much love, Murder and Mayhem.

Morgan
